Paul tried to rebuke Peter for hypocrisy.
If the two pillars of the church were publicly bickering and calling each other hypocrites, then Christianity has no foundation to stand upon
>>

>then Christianity has no foundation to stand upon
But it stands on Jesus Christ thoughever?

You believe Paul and Peter are important to the faith. If they fight, then they couldn’t both be divinely-inspired
>>
>>18534525
>then they couldn’t both be divinely-inspired
God spoke through them at the appointed times, not ALL of the time. Namely, in the authorship of scripture. And these scriptures agree in one.
We know that Paul was correct in this instance because the Holy Ghost is speaking this. It's not a controversy of whether Peter or Paul were correct. Paul was correct in the story.

Peter is depicted as a pathological hypocrite in the Gospels, denying Jesus three times. Peter's flaws, and those of all the disciples, are on full display throughout the New Testament. That's the point. These are flawed men that our Lord chose to lead His Church. As a rule, God chooses conspicuously flawed men to be His servants. It's a recurring theme throughout the Old and New Testaments.

Thanks for admitting that no Christian is virtuous and that all of you are deranged criminals
>>
>>18534534
If Peter was wrong at any point, then he couldn’t have ever truly divinely-inspired
>>
Peter repented

Flawed church, flawed leaders, flawed books, flawed messiah and a flawed, non-existent god. It's so over for christianity.
>>
>>18534562
Any decent Christian would admit to this. Paul called himself the chief of sinners.
>>
>>18534583
That's the point. He died on the cross, but it wasn't over...
>>
>>18534588
He died and never came back, because he was just a random lunatic. Then his delusional followers hallucinated and lied about his life and resurrection, but they couldn't even keep their lies consistent. It has been over since it started.

It looked like it was over, it should have been over, but it wasn't over. Christ's gospel spread throughout the civilized world, toppled the empire that enslaved God's people and crucified Him, and took over the world.

Have fun burning
>>
>>18534597
It's definitely over. He died and is never coming back. Whatever accidental success it had is now being corrected for, as christianity continues to decline and more people see through the delusions and lies.
>>
>>18534605
>christianity continues to decline
Scripture predicted this would happen before the second coming.
>>
>>18534615
Scripture said jesus would be back in the lifetimes of the people writing the scriptures. It has already been falsified.

Those flames just got hotter

That’s an atheist delusion and lie.

Matthew 24:34
Truly I tell you, this generation will certainly not pass away until all these things have happened.

Mark 9:1
And he said to them, “Truly I tell you, some who are standing here will not taste death before they see that the kingdom of God has come with power.”

Matthew 26:64
Jesus replied (to the high priest prosecuting him). “But I say to all of you: From now on you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Mighty One and coming on the clouds of heaven.”

1 Corinthians 7:29-31
What I mean, brothers and sisters, is that the time is short. From now on those who have wives should live as if they do not; those who mourn, as if they did not; those who are happy, as if they were not; those who buy something, as if it were not theirs to keep; those who use the things of the world, as if not engrossed in them. For this world in its present form is passing away.

1 Thessalonians 4:16-17
For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first.
After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever.

Romans 13:11
And do this, understanding the present time: The hour has already come for you to wake up from your slumber, because our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed.

Some context for Matthew 24:34 just in case

Matthew 24:30-31
“Then will appear the sign of the Son of Man in heaven. And then all the peoples of the earth will mourn when they see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven, with power and great glory. And he will send his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other.

>no where to live
>can't work

Then should just die. It's that shrimple
