the high medieval period seemed relatively nice, especially with the warm period and surplus of food
nothing like the pax romana glory days, but compared to late antiquity/dark ages from before or the late medieval/early modern plagues and holy wars, i’d say it’s neat
>>
>Germanic Supremacy, Franks replaced the Roman Empire and rule everything
>small Renaissance of Roman titles and customs being resurrected
>surprising amount of social mobility, if you are good at war
>Europe is also surprisingly not as Christian as you think, the church is just in the process of appropriating many things, which were considered intrinsically "religious" like proceeding over marriage ceremonies for example, which also entails the complete delegitimization of bastards

The Ottonian dynasty eventually went on to establish the Holy Roman Empire in its second form, heralding the second great renaissance since the Carolingian rebirth of learning, art, and music under Charlemagne. Notker Balbulus was probably the most virtuous, learned and talented intellectual at the time, composing the Liber Hymnorum. Multiple invasions from the steppe were defeated by Henry I, the Fowler, and Otto the Great which eventually led to the sedentarisation and Christianisation of the Hungarians. The Byzantine-Arab frontline was stabilising, and the Greeks had a golden age under the likes of Leo VI the Wise and Constantine VII Porphyrogenitus. England was established in its primordial state under Athelstan, the second architect of England after Alfred the Great. The Cordoban stronghold on Iberia was beginning to weaken, early points of Crusading ideology emerge in the frontier zone especially with Almanzor's raids into the north. All around Europe the Vikings are still moving comfortably, but their age is coming to an end eventually. That's all I can think of for now.
