In old books and documentaries India is always listed as part of the "Moslem territory". India was just reeled off as "Muslim land" as casually as Egypt or Persia was in those days. Today if anyone calls India Muslim land they will be challenged and attacked. In fact even Muslims themselves don't claim India anymore. Is this because Pakistan split away or some other reason that India is not broadly included as part of the Islamic world anymore?
>>18537906Well yeah after the split the leadership of the territories was no longer in Muslim hands. Now only like ~15% of the population is Muslim.
>>18537906Yes, it used to be shared between the Moslems and the Hindoo, but now that Pakistan got separated, it’s clearly a majority Hindoo nation now.
>>18537906India was Hindu, and then Buddhism was created and spread into Asia but India remained mostly Hindu. And then Islam invaded and converted the North into Muslim and it became a weird combination of Islam and Hinduism, they had the Caste system even under Islam. And then Pakistan broke off and became Muslim India. But then mainland India reverted back to Hinduism mostly except a little in the North. And then the UK invaded and turned it into Britain 2. But then India got their land back and now it's Hindu again lol.
>>18537935>then Buddhism was created and spread into AsiaWhy shitslam have to ruined everything?https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buddhas_of_Bamiyanhttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buddhism_in_Kashmirhttps://ctc.westpoint.edu/the-threat-from-rising-extremism-in-the-maldives/https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Southern_Thailand_insurgency
>>18538019Other non muslims groups have insurgency in South and SE Asia. The Maldives article is pure slop and people removing, refurbishing or defacing old religious sites is common allover the world.
>>18537906When the British were conquering India most of the region was ruled by Muslims. The wealthy landowning elite were also majority Muslim (these dudes would later form Pakistan). Hinduism outside of a few areas, was not represented in the upper classes even though it was the majority of the population overall.
>>18537906Hindus were seen as pagans, who weren't really seen by Abrahamics as a real religion at all. The different Abrahamic faiths have always treated each other as real religions and everything else as cosplay.
