Are you team Laozi, team Kongzi, or team Buddha?

Confucianism easily mogs, it's like the brother that has a real successful career and props up his two bum siblings out of pity. Confucianists correctly identified that the religious and metaphysical aspects of Buddhism and Taoism were nonsense a thousand years ago, but understood their philosophy could be useful for a harmonious society.

>the country in the world that didn't move on from the Three Teachings (mainly Neo-Confucianism) is Korea
>they're now both dystopian shitholes plagued with ossified social classes and oppressive ritualism
>catastrophically low birth rates and terrible relations between the sexes
Really makes you think.

I currently read Hanfeizi:

Seems to be a kind of practical wisedom, with some shortcommings in terms of metaphysical speculations.

This was written by a disaffected Jesuit priest in the Qing Court.

>the country in the world that didn't move on from the Three Teachings
South Korea is majority irreligious and Christianity is the most practiced religion in the country.

Confucianism for the head.
Buddhism for the heart.
Daoism for the belly.

They're Americanised "Christians" but their culture is deeply Confucianist.

Laozi is the long eared sage from the west (silk road). The name literally comes from the older name Lao Dan. Long-Eared.

Buddha is the "long eared" sage from India.

>metaphysical aspects of Buddhism

I thought it didn't have any
>>
>>18541696
The way it's practiced in East and Southeast Asian involves a lot of ancestor worshipping rituals.
>>
>>18541696
Western "Buddhism" doesn't have any.

Kongzi. The normal East Asian countries that uphold his creed and didnt fall for retarded communist lies are all doing well.
His thinking is essentially the same as European enlightenment political philosophy anyway.
>>
>>18541696
Lol buddhism is nothing BUT metaphysics. It's a religion. It is in its entirety about supernatural shit like souls and reincarnation and magic realms and praying and everything else you can think of.
>>
>>18542130
His thinking is almost the complete opposite of enlightenment thinking. His entire world view was all about stratified hierarchical caste systems, strict fundamentalist religious observance, and monarchy. You can sum up Confucius's philosophy as "If the people on the bottom of every social relationship stopped being so uppity, I wouldn't have to worry about losing my cushy job as a Scholar-Aristocrat". It's amazing how westerners took one of history's all time arch-conservatives, took a single line about "The people in charge should be competent" out of context, and turned him into some kind of secular Jesus.
>>
>>18540124
Personally I find all three to be second-rate philosophies. You can pretty much sum them up as

>Confucius: Everyone should just shut up and do what they're told.

>Laozi: Duuuude, like, what if everybody just chilled maaan.

>Buddha: Kill yourself
