>Dutch historian Louis de Jong wrote that on March 25, 1939, windows were smashed in the houses of many ethnic Germans in Posen and Kraków, and in those of the German embassy in Warsaw. German agricultural co-operatives in Poland were later dissolved and many German schools were closed down, while ethnic Germans who were active in the cultural sphere were taken into custody. Around the middle of May 1939, in one small town where 3,000 ethnic Germans lived, many household effects in houses and shops were smashed to bits. The remaining German clubs were closed in the middle of June.[16]
>De Jong wrote that, by mid-August 1939, the Poles proceeded to arrest hundreds of ethnic Germans. German printing shops and trade union offices were closed, and numerous house-to-house searches took place. Eight ethnic Germans who had been arrested in Upper Silesia were shot to death on August 24 during their transport to an internment camp.[17]
>On August 7, 1939, the Polish censors permitted the newspaper Illustrowany Kuryer Codzienny in Kraków to feature an article of unprecedented recklessness. The article stated that Polish units were constantly crossing the German frontier to destroy German military installations, and to carry confiscated German military equipment into Poland. The Polish government allowed this newspaper, with one of the largest circulations in Poland, to tell the world that Poland was instigating a series of violations of her frontier with Germany.[18] The Polish newspaper Kurier Polski also declared in banner headlines that “Germany Must Be Destroyed!”, while negotiations with Hitler were still in progress during August 1939.[19]

I don't understand why they were so obsessed with Germany in the late-1930's when the biggest threat was obviously Stalin on their eastern flank. They completely ignored him and got gangbanged as a result.

Because Stalin wasn't a threat in any way. You don't know history. Pre-Ribbentrop-Molotov Stalin wasn't a threat.
Meanwhile Germany demanded the return of Danzig and concessions regarding the Polish corridor.

And that was after they destroyed Czechoslovakia and took Klaipeda, so obiously Poles were more worried about Hitler and Germany.

It's funny because this stuff comes from a book called The German Fifth Column In The Second World War.

>Meanwhile the German people were psychologically prepared for war. In April Hitler had definitely decided to launch his armies. Goebbels made his journalists use headlines of increasingly provo¬ cative content. From the beginning of August not a day went by in which the German papers did not cry piteously about the ‘persecutions’ the Volksdeutschen were undergoing, sometimes on genuine grounds, more often on the grounds of exaggerated or invented reports.
All of this started after Hitler denounced the non-aggression pact.

>A day later the Polish police found explosives in the houses of two Volksdeutsche in Lodz. At the same time it appeared from the statement of an arrested German that the German Sickerheitsdienst smuggled agents provocateurs into Poland in order to murder volksdeutsche farmers whose death Berlin could again lay at the door of the Poles.
Why not cite these excerpts?

>German saboteurs were arrested along the frontier on the night of August 25 to 26—the night in which Hitler had originally wanted to attack Poland; they had tried to get through the Polish lines to the railways in the hinterland. On August 25 in Lodz a telegram from Germany drew attention: ‘Mother dead. Buy wreaths.’ It brought the police on the track of a resistance group who had hidden 45 kilograms of dynamite in food tins with Polish labels on them and in oil-containers with double bottoms. Dozens of revolvers were also found, and the mechanisms of clocks for bombs, and German wireless sets. Twenty-four people were taken into custody
It's almost like the Germans weren't exactly innocent victims.

It truly is a disgusting shame how the world got away with persecuting and terrorizing Germans and proceeded to collectively traumatize and emasculate them over the course of 60 years.

Sieg fucking heil.

This isn't a Wikipedia article, the quotation links[1][2][3] and such were added to the text by OP. Ironically, de Jong was Jewish
