>>18545919Their empire would quickly crumble with the rise in Asian nationalism and disdain for replacing Western masters with Japanese masters. They especially had no hopes of holding onto China, that would crumple before anything else. It is simply too large to hold and too opposed to Japanese rule. At best, they'd keep Taiwan, Korea, and Manchuria but they'd likely lose the latter two if the Soviet Union is still alive or China recovers. If it's late war, they'll be in an especially bad spot without US funds for rebuilding. And I don't see the US supporting them against the Soviet Union if they are defeated by Japan.

Even if they did win they would have vietnam war like conditions everywhere until they realized you can't brute force your way into greatness like china.
