Note: I am going at this with an autodidact approach since I cannot afford university.

If you enjoy studying philosophy then the benefit is your own enjoyment. If you don't enjoy it then there is no benefit.

Helps you understand where the concepts you constantly invoke actually come from. Gives you an excuse to practice self-reflection and general reasoning. Makes you less of a mindless human cattle.

Of course, but seriously how would it benefit us as a society?

Decent.

>philosophy
overall needed if you want to understand the world and how to think, although you should study it out of curiosity to understand the world abstractly

>metaphysics
useful if you're interested in religion but not that useful for anything else. Metaphysics died a long time ago

>axiology
very important if you want to actually understand morality and why people act. Ethics is at the root of everything normative, including politics

>epistemology
very important to understand the limits to our knowledge, why science is the way it is, and how people percieve the world

>logic
Important but not that much if you're not a brainlet. It can be nice if you want to structure arguments coherently and be a good debater but other than that not that useful
Logic can be circumvented if you study rhetoric and math

>understand the world
That's science not philosophy
>and how to think
This should come naturally if you're not a retard
>very important if you want to actually understand morality and why people act
That's psychology or rather sociology, not philosophy
>very important to understand the limits to our knowledge
Also should be easy to deduce if you're not a retard
>logic
>philosophy
Lmao
>not that much if you're not a brainlet
Lmao
>Logic can be circumvented if you study rhetoric
LMAO
TLDR philosophy is useless

Isn't there still some people that publish literature on that topic?
>very important if you want to actually understand morality and why people act. Ethics is at the root of everything normative, including politics
Is Political Philosophy apart of Axiology/Ethics?
>very important to understand the limits to our knowledge, why science is the way it is, and how people percieve the world
Mhm.

You must be a pragmatist. Philosophy on average produces some of the Highest IQ majors along with Mathematics & Physics majors.

Who end up contributing literally nothing to society. Thanks for proving my point

You learn people been making shit up for a LONG time.

>Philosophy on average produces some of the Highest IQ majors
Probably because they spend their time practicing iq tests, since they have nothing better to do
>>

oh cmon please don't tell me you're the OP and that you made this thread to cope with your failure from the last thread you made on basedence vs philosophy

>Isn't there still some people that publish literature on that topic?
It depends on what you mean by "metaphysics". If you mean in the restricted sense of analyzing what is beyond physics (aka causality, supernatural laws etc) then not that much. Most papers are going to be focused on theism or on very abstract notions in that domain.
However, if you consider metaphysics to englobe everything that isn't physics, then some fields like physicalism or idealism can be considered "metaphysics" despite them being akin to epistemology than metaphysics proper. So for instance, a paper focusing on the unprovabe nature of causality might end up in "metaphysics" in scientific papers despite the lack of relation with the way metaphysics is usually percieved.

>Is Political Philosophy apart of Axiology/Ethics?
Usually. It's organized that way on philpapers at least.
