There seems to be an idea online that the Jews of today are impostors and that the true descendants of the ancient Hebrews are Europeans, each European ethnic group being the successor of one of the lost tribes of Israel. This idea is usually presented, without any evidence, in response to a European person who wants to follow his own ancient ancestors' spiritual traditions instead of a Semitic religion from the Middle East, or in a foolhardy attempt to make Christianity compatible with White Nationalism. The most obvious problem with this notion is linguistic inconsistency, with the old testament being written in a Semitic language with no relation to any of the languages in Europe.The other reason, which is primarily why I wanted to make this thread, is that it seems the people promoting this idea have never read The Bible, or even looked at the names of books. In both testaments of the Bible, European peoples are very much present. Romans, Greeks, Galatians (Celts/Gauls), and Hittites (Indo-European Anatolians) are all talked in length, as clearly foreign peoples to the Israelites, not their descendants or relatives. Semitic peoples are related to Europeans insofar as both are part of the broad West-Eurasian genetic cluster, but that is where the similarities end. I do not believe I had a notable number of Semitic ancestors, if any at all. All my ancestors, as far as I can tell, were either Romans or Franks. These peoples have sufficiently rich histories, and I do not feel the need to claim to be a descendant of a Semitic people or any other peoples, especially when there is no evidence for such a claim, and plenty of evidence against it.
