Genocide accusations at the political level are mostly generally done for political reasons. It's why every Western Parliament and Government voted to recognize the "Uyghur Genocide" despite it was just literally a poverty reduction jobs program and rehabilitation program for Wahhabi radicalist dickheads while enforcing civil rights for women to be able to work and go to school while 99/100 Western politicians won't even call what Israel is doing ethnic cleansing.
The Holodomor isn't real, it's a political accusation by Western countries and Ukrainian nationalists to justify the idea that the USSR somehow was some colonial force subjugating Ukrainians, when in reality the USSR literally founded the nation state of Ukraine, constructed Ukrainian identity, the USSR itself was led mostly by Ukrainians (Khrushchev, Brezhnev, Cherenkov, Gorbachev).
It's the same cope Scottish do where they pretend they are colonized victims of the British Empire when the Empire was literally run out of Glasgow and Edinburgh and most of the colonial wealth flowed back into Glasgow and Edinburgh and the most ferverent colonial authorities were Scottish.
The Holodomor was just part of a wider famine across the USSR due to wheat rust that was worsened by collectivization efforts occuring at the same time as well as wide spread ethno-nationalist insurgency and terrorism attacking kolkhoz. There is zero evidence the USSR had any intention of harming Ukrainians or Kazakhs during the famine, even after Yakovlev, Yeltsin and such opened the archives to prove how evil the USSR.

Pretty sure the opening of the archives proved that it was caused by a combination of environmental factors and mass organizational incompetence/callousness that was ideologically inspired.
