Where to begin? Spartan women married later, had children later, and men could have more children with concubines to avoid arguments with their wives. Women were even freed from the most basic domestic tasks, could participate in sporting activities, and were celebrated like men, in addition to having certain political rights and property.

But did you know that the situation gets even worse???? There was a Spartan practice of allowing a younger, stronger, and braver man to reproduce with his wife....

>What?? So you mean to say 300 was fake? Noooo!

You didn't say everything. Besides cuckolds and feminists, they betrayed Greece to lick the balls of Irenjeet for petty and selfish reasons. They were literally fighting side-by-side with those who proposed to enslave Greece and, by extension, Europe. The Spartans were far-left.

Does anyone praise Sparta for their society? I thought they praised their military.

Which was also shitty btw

Why don't leftists cling to Sparta instead of the Celts or Vikings, anyway? They were much closer to progressive ideas for the world than the first two, lol.

>"DUUUUDE I KNOW YOU ARE A MILLIONAIRE BUT YOUR WIFE *NEEDS* TO DO DOMESTIC WEAVING DUDE!"
>the horse racing thing is literally one woman SPONSORING a charioteer (NOT participating in a race herself)
>also because of the small number of male citizens who are solely responsible for defending the state, flexibility in reproduction is allowed so that the citizenry may not die out and will always have a replenished soldiery
Sparta was based and their ban on monetary wealth is more or less without parallel in history, and had an incredibly pro-social effect on the country. Spartan women were also heckin cute and valid.
The only really depressing thing about Sparta is that it was a slave society with a permanent underclass of helots to be used any way the Spartans wanted. With that said, I doubt the Athenians or other Greek city states were much better in any meaningful way.

Wtf are you even talking about?

This is ridiculous, how can we be sure it's not just Athenian propaganda since they were at war all the time

There's really no middle ground between letting the foids run rampant or devolving into boy-fucking pederasts is there

but at least they appreciated the natural beauty of boys

Reddit-opinion. Their military was obviously not the greatest that has ever graced the eye of history, far from it, but there is a reason why it was a great Poleis in Greek able to rival the other dominant city states.

Depends on who you ask. Some people had this pop-culture image of the Spartan warrior in their head, especially in the fallout of the "300" movies. They usually focus on the military, or to be more precise, the image of a military they conjured in their head.
But in political and philosophical circles Spartan society and culture has indeed been a great inspiration. Before the post-WW2 Order Sparta was one of the major idols for the West, heck, one of the reasons why the west later disowned Sparta was because even the communists saw something proto-communist or inspiring in Spartan Society. But these people tend to stick in their niche, so you don't see them around in pop-culture circles.

Many Socialists did cling themselves to Sparta. Vinings are just more ,,popular" today because they do not attach themselves to other cultures out of genuine interest, these are merely feeble attempts to "reclaim" them from the far-right.
