I'm sorry religious people, but I just can't believe in any religion. The more I look into the arguments and evidence, the more I find against them. I hope your God(s) will have mercy on me, because I'm very simply unable to believe in any religion.
>>18554559You made the common accident of not knowing what the word religion means.Theism means belief in gods or god.Religion means a very strict set of beliefs and practices. Like being vegan can be a religion if you are very serious about it.Religion just means your lifestyle and some people make God their religion. Lol.
>>18554567>Religion just means your lifestyleRecheck your dictionary, little brother.
>>18554572https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ReligionSometimes dictionaries do change to adapt to modern uses but the real original meaning of religion is more similar to this. Lol.
>>18554559Studying more philosophy, especially metaphysics, opened up the idea to me. I think a lot of people are implicitly going off of their own common sense which, in modern society, usually means some kind of empiricism. But when you study metaphysics, you see that every metaphysical system is extraordinary, including empiricism itself which historically had a pretty tough time justifying its own existence beyond Anglos simply deciding to ignore the rest of European philosophy. TLDR: Read Kant.
>>18554572>>18554559You are a white liberal democrat who is atheist because you think republicans are Christian and you do not want to be associated with their culture. Congrats I guess. Nice blog posts. Lol.
>>18554604I read philosophy and metaphysics. And I didn't end up theist. The arguments for atheism are just more convincing to me. Moreover, the god of philosophers is too far removed from any religion to my tastes, so even if I came to accept theism, it'd be deism at best. Christianity, Islam, etc. are also far too self-contradictory to align.
Two-thirds of the Scriptures are prophetic, either in type, symbol, or direct statement; and more than one-half of the OT prophecies, and nearly all of the NT, points to events that are future. It was because the religious leaders of Christ’s day were not students of the prophetic Scriptures that they failed to recognize Him when He came. There's plenty of evidence to show that the Bible is the truth, but it boils don't to a decision: Do you want to believe or do you want to not believe? God lets you choose, but and we don't know how much time and how many opportunities we have to choose otherwise and accept the gift of salvation.https://truthischrist.com/seven/https://truthischrist.com/elton-anomaly-823543/https://truthischrist.com/70x7-kjb-code-jesus-is-the-son-of-god/The Lord Jesus Christ came to reconcile man and God together again, He did it by bearing the judgment of the sinner in Himself on the cross. He was judged and punished for all our sins. What the sinner is asked to do is to trust in Jesus Christ, The Lord God Almighty. It doesn't matter how much faith you have, but you can't put that faith in yourself, because you can't save yourself. Trust that the work He did is sufficient to pay for you sins, and call upon Him as your Saviour, knowing that you are a sinner, and that without the blood atonement He made you would go to hell. You might not know what to say, but if you understand that you need Jesus Christ, call upon Him and let Him do the rest.Salvation is by grace through faith (Eph. 2:8-9, given by God, Romans 10:8 & 17) only in the one, final, effectual sacrifice of the Lord Jesus Christ (Heb. 10:8-12) dying in your place (1 Cor. 15:3-4) as a substitutionary offering for sin (Rom. 5:1-10). His blood atonement made for you is finished, so if you have received the Lord Jesus by faith (John 1:12) in your heart, you're forgiven of all your sins and are saved, once for all; finally and forever! (Rom. 8:38-39, Romans 4:5)
>>18554559>the arguments and evidence, the more I find against themWhat evidence do you have for atheism?
>>18554559>I'm sorry religious people, but I just can't believe in any religion. You're probably lying and desperate to escape the consequences of your decision not to believe. On the slim chance that you're telling the truth it means God has given you over to a reprobate mind, and I'm glad that you're going to burn. Disgusting freak.>The more I look into the arguments and evidence, the more I find against them. M'lord.>I hope your God(s) will have mercy on me, because I'm very simply unable to believe in any religion. He won't. Enjoy Hell.
>>18554559Reasoning your way to God is like using math to make a painting
>>18554840math is pretty important for painting as perspective geometry is math.
>>18554840Isn't that basically the Mandelbrot set?Or like >>18554842 says, is very useful in paintings? Pic related has Jesus crucified to a perfectly accurate 4 dimensional cross.
>>18555027That cross is perfectly three dimensional. It's just floating.
>>18555041I know I'm being obtuse, but you could stretch this to say that all three dimensional objects are perfectly two dimensional.
>>18555044Not really. There's nothing 4 dimensional about that cross
>>18555066There's really nothing 4 dimensional about this picture except that we commonly use it to represent a 4 dimensional thing. It is mathematically accurate in that representation however. Likewise, it is the same for that cross.
>>18555074>we commonly use it to represent a 4 dimensional thingWe use it but it's just a silly picture and it makes no sense to call it a perfect representation of a tesseract. The jesus on floating cubes painting is even sillier.
>>18554559>I'm sorry religious people, but I just can't believe in any religionI am a man of faith and I agree>I hope your God(s) will have mercy on meto me, god is all loving and wants you to be happy in this life. whatever you do, and wherever you go, god wishes love on you. that's all. it's like a fountain of pure water you can drink or not. there is no punishment for not drinking it. that's faith. forget about religion, it's human corruption and it offends god
>>18554559>The more I look into the arguments and evidence, the more I find against them. This is what happens when your evidence criteria are more or less equivalent to "idk, impress me", as is the case for most atheists. You will never find a good enough argument or evidence this way because your brain is wired to maintain current belief and in the absence of evidence criteria defined ahead of time, your evaluation circuitry just falls back on its intuitive (aka habit-driven) modes... which in your case would lead to the irreligious worldview. I'm not saying you're stupid or that your judgement is below average, I'm saying that you're trying to set up a kind of a scientific process - where you evaluate evidence and arguments - while leaving out one of the key parts that make it reliable. Criteria. Decide what measurement, datapoint or experience would prove God/religion to you and how you would evaluate it, and then set out to look for it. I've seen people on this board confidently tell me they need a picture of God and then go from 0 to seething when I asked them how one would visually recognize God. An absence of criteria doesn't just make it more difficult for theists to deliver evidence, it makes it impossible for atheists to recognize it.
