Why do people pretend that the Bolsheviks instituted secret police just for evulz and funsies, when in reality, they had to reluctantly step up on it once counter-revolutionaries shamelessly killed Moisei Uritsky, a beloved man of the people? It was a crime that demanded action, a disgusting strike against the will of the people.
>>
>Kannegisser's lover, an army officer named Viktor Pereltsveig, had been executed with a group of officers by the Cheka in the summer of 1918. It was Uritsky who signed the execution orders, so Kannegisser decided to take revenge.[3]

Clearly, the secret police in fact already existed before that shitstain got his brains blown out by a true Russian patriot.

>Why do people pretend that the Bolsheviks instituted secret police just for evulz and funsies
Same reason people pretend the Nazis set up concentration camps for evil and funsies, some people see history as a comic book struggle between good guys and villains

Most countries have some version of a secret police, secret service, counterintelligence department, or whatever. The Bolsheviks weren’t special in that regard. Where it gets to the point of being called evil is when this state apparatus began to regularly do evil things. When you see phrases like collective punishment, mass deportation, and endemic corruption you’ve got a problem.

I’ve never seen this. The Nazis set up camps for two reasons. To take people they’d decided were expendable and use them as slave labor (incidentally exactly like the Bolsheviks) to help with manpower shortages and to exterminate civilians that their bizarre conspiracy theory ideology has labeled as enemies. Both were evil, sure, but the first one was very pragmatic if you don’t care about the horrible ethics of slavery. The second one, while despicable, certainly wasn’t done for fun, or for nebulous capeshit villain reasons. They honestly seemed to think poor farmers from some random shtetl in Poland were more dire military targets than the red army. I’ve never seen it described as something they did because it was just a prank, bro, or whatever.

>It's not like we wanted to starve all those people, genocide millions, or oppress our people!
>We were . . . forced to . . . because . . . of reasons!
God, even commie apologetics is just dickless whining.

It looks like you're quoting Wikipedia from how you copied the text, but i can't find anything about a gay lover. You aren't lying you commie, are you? You know that depicting your enemies as homosexuals tend to get hicks in here riled up.

> Uritsky played a leading role in the Bolsheviks' armed take-over in October as a member of the Petrograd Military Revolutionary Committee, and was later made head of the Petrograd Cheka secret police in January 1918. In this position, Uritsky coordinated the pursuit and prosecution of members of the nobility, military officers, rival socialists, ranking Russian Orthodox Church clerics, and anyone who opposed the Bolsheviks.
> On May 25, 1918, with the Revolt of the Czechoslovak Legion, the Russian Civil War began and Uritsky resumed his position on the Central Committee. An opponent of the death penalty, he nevertheless signed execution warrants approved by his Committee
>I-I didn’t want to mass murder, the burgers, rival socialists, and priests made me do s-ACK!
The repression of the Soviets dwarfed that of the shitty Russian Empire, all that blood for a state that lasted less than 100 years, left its constituent republics in economic backwardness, and lost to Pizza Hut.

But he opposed death penalty!

So are commies pushing homosexuality or using it as a tool of slander? Choose one.
