I'm afraid of death /his/. What if we die and there's nothing? What if our lives are meaningless?

>I'm afraid of death /his/.
Welp. Too bad. It's coming.
>>
you don't really die, the particles that make up your brain don't go anywhere, they just get rearranged, they are in fact being constantly rearranged as you read this
>>
>>18575655
It should be the most freeing revelation ever. More than anything an emaciated christkek could shackle you with.
>>

>What if we die and there's nothing? What if our lives are meaningless?
What if? Are you gonna kill yourself over it? You can either spend the rest of your life coping about afterlife this and God that and eternity this and theosis that, or you can just accept that one day you will arbitrarily be killed with no recourse and that nothing you have ever done will have ever amounted to anything. You may as well have never existed at all. You just need to remind yourself of this until it becomes mundane.

Do bacterias die? Viruses? What about plants? Do they die and go to plant afterlife? The fuck would you be any different my nig? You die and cease to be, thats it. There was no meaning. Rabbi Yeshua won't descend on a sparkly cloud to take you to infinite paid resort with hookers

Did ancient humans crave an afterlife this much or is this just Islamo-Christian brainwashing
>>
>>18575790
Burial is the oldest tradition/rite we know of
>>
"Death is nothing to us. When we exist, death is not; and when death exists, we are not."
>>
>>18575790
It's possible that the ancients didn't really comprehend death intellectually as they didn't comprehend forces of nature. Rain and lightning were equally mystical as death, the world seemed infinite and the Sun was a giant golden god in the sky. They probably didn't worry about death as much and were casually violent, human sacrifice was the norm and cannibalism abound.
>>
>>18575655
What if you die and there's nothing, and your life was still meaningful and there's still a god?
>>
You don't die, you move from one state of vibration into another so you move into a different parallel universe
>>
>>18575655
You are afraid of death because you know in your heart there isn’t nothing. There’s judgement.

If you do not repent and believe in Jesus Christ, you will die in your sins.
>>
>>18575655
After you die, you will feel the same way you felt in the year 1600. Did that feel particularly bad? Did you suffer much in 1600? The nothingness will feel the same as it felt before. It won't feel.

You'll be fine.

I don't fear death. I fear dying and reincarnation.

>What if we die and there's nothing? What if our lives are meaningless?

I don't understand this line of reasoning.
If you only have one life wouldn't that mean your life is super fucking meaningful, important, and something you should hold on to and covet with everything you have? Scarcity in life would make it valuable, what the fuck are you on about, "aaahhh there's nothing after life, aaahhh shit, fuck, aaaahh" eat pizza, go to a butterfly garden, write a short story, consume life. Holy shit.

How is your life meaningful if you’re a moist robot chemical accident in a random chaos universe that doesn’t care about you!

“My life matters!” said the ground beef

>How is your life meaningful if you’re a moist robot chemical accident in a random chaos universe that doesn’t care about you!
The fact that these meat robots can exist and experience the universe at all is nothing short of amazing, call it a work of nature or God or whatever but I don't really understand how you struggle with the idea that life has meaning because it ends
>>
>>18578304
Are “amazing” and meaningful the same thing? Besides, atheists tell me there’s nothing remarkable about life and it just would’ve happened sooner or later.
>>
>>18578305
It's not the inevitability of life that makes it amazing or meaningful, it's the fact that life exists at all

>What if we die and there's nothing?
If your consciousness could emerge from nothingness once, and death is the same state as before birth, what’s stopping it from emerging from nothing again?
>>
>>18578349
>what’s stopping it from emerging from nothing again?
Consciousness is a creation of the body. It is the manifestation of your brain. Without a brain it cannot be sustained. So once your body is gone that's it. Like a machine that's broken.
>>
>>18578359
Man is not a machine, especially not in the simplistic way you think of machinery. Trying to classify consciousness, nature and life as we know it as machines is backwards, similar to how people believed in the literalist interpretation of the aether or alchemy, or flat earth. Thinking of things in such simplistic terms betrays both your simplicity and your hubris, trying to compare the little toys people build to the sustained complexity of something that can assemble itself from nothing but circumstance.
You think you know something because you have faith that men who are greater than you know it, even though said greater men know that they don't know where consciousness is created. You can't even fix your car, but you think life is within 'our' grasp.

Can you prove that?

The scary thing about death is I can't really imagine an outcome that would make me happy. If it's what Christcucks believe is real and an afterlife exists then it would realistically just turn into: https://scp-wiki.wikidot.com/scp-7179

Reincarnation is better, but I personally don't want to spend eternity in an endless cycle of birth, death, and rebirth where I have a one-in-four chance of being born as some rat selling child rapist on the streets of New Delhi or as a wagie in the States where half my paycheck gets stolen by the government and given to Israel.

The only good option is nothingness but I don't want that either since there's so much I want to see and do and experience and I can't do any of those things if I cease to exist.

>I'm afraid of death /his/.
You and everyone else. But constantly fearing the inevitable is pointless. You will die, I will die. Your mom will die, your sons will die. It is what it is.
>What if we die and there's nothing?
That's most likely going to be the case. What do you mean "what if"? There will just be nothing. It's like before you were born. Big deal.
>What if our lives are meaningless?
Define "meaning". You have to construct a higher meaning for yourself. Life has no meaning. It just is. The meaning of life is to live.
