Did Nazis generally treat Hitler's views as essentially unquestionable or infallible, especially his racial theories about Slavs not being white, and other groups? Since those ideas have been thoroughly disproven by modern racial science, I'm curious whether Hitler's personal opinions were treated as authoritative simply because they came from him. I'm also curious about the apparent exceptions Hitler made for certain Jews he knew personally or respected. How did Nazi ideology reconcile those individual exceptions with its broader racial doctrine? Were they seen as genuine exceptions, or was there some ideological explanation for them?
>>18576319Depends what you mean by Nazis. The five or ten people in Hitler's inner circle who occasionally chatted with him? Most of them either held the same views or slightly watered down versions of them. If they disagreed substantially then they wouldn't have been invited to his inner circle to begin with. The majority of the NSDAP had no idea what Hitler's personal views were since he never called Slavs (or even Jews) subhuman in public speeches. Also Hitler was extremely lazy and delegated pretty much all bureaucratic work to his subordinates.>modern racial scienceThere's no such thing as modern racial science. The overwhelming view of of the scientific community is that race is a social construct impossible to categorize. So while it's true academics will claim Slavs and Jews are identical to Western Europeans, it's also their position implicitly that Africans are identical to Western Europeans. Anyone who claims to speak for the scientific community to give you a racial understanding of the world is lying to you.
>>18576319The real answer is that it doesn't matter, even to the NSDAP. Hitler made an exception for his jewish doctor, that was pretty much it. On the other hand, by 1944, he had an entire army of slavic people fighting for him. Maybe you can see the difference there, but I'm not holding out hope.
Nazi ideology especially late in the war was more pragmatic than ideological.
