Why do people worship Nikola Tesla like this guy was some fucking electricity messiah? Every invention thread turns into "Tesla invented everything but evil corporations stole his ideas" which they learnt from reddit.
>"he invented electricity."
No he fucking didn't. Electricity was studied for centuries before Tesla. Volta, Faraday, Ampère, Maxwell, and others built the foundations of electrical science.
>"he invented AC"
No he fucking didn't. Tesla made major contributions to AC motors and polyphase systems, but AC was not created by one guy. Multiple engineers like Pixii and Ferraris contributed.
>"he invented radio"
No he fucking didn't. Tesla did experiments with high-frequency currents and wireless ideas, but that does not make him the inventor of radio. Radio was built through the work of many people. Hertz demonstrated electromagnetic waves. Lodge worked on wireless signaling and tuning. Marconi developed practical long-distance wireless communication. Fessenden worked on voice transmission. Tesla had wireless-related patents, but that does not mean he invented the entire field. His ideas about wireless communication were not the same as the radio systems that actually became successful.
>"the Supreme Court proved Tesla invented radio"
No it fucking didn't. The 1943 Supreme Court case was not some grand "Tesla was the true inventor of radio" ruling. It was a patent dispute over Marconi's four-circuit tuning patent and government compensation claims. The court found that Marconi's tuning claims were already anticipated by earlier work, especially John Stone Stone and Oliver Lodge. Tesla was mentioned while discussing early wireless research, but the court did not give him priority, did not overturn Marconi's original radio achievement, and did not declare Tesla the inventor of radio.
>"he invented WiFi"
No he fucking didn't. WiFi came from modern radio engineering, digital communication, and network research.

it's just internet mythology
like getting kuru from eating people who aren't new guinean cannibals
or doctors not washing their hands before semmelweis
or most coal coming from the carboniferous
