Nowadays most discourses about American history by both local and international media outlets focuses more on its negative aspects such as slavery, genocide, stolen land, segregation, interventions, and whatnot, portraying it so that we can only look at our ancestors in shame. Without downplaying all the dark stuff, what are some good things the US did that we can be proud of or appreciate, including the privileged WASP contributions that aren't just committing evil?

>>18580311The American Revolution was a historically progressive event and should be celebrated as such. If a self proclaimed leftist disagrees with you throw this quote at them."The history of modern, civilised America opened with one of those great, really liberating, really revolutionary wars of which there have been so few compared to the vast number of wars of conquest."
>>18580311>>18580313All of the cultural stuff exists because of the foundation of a strong functional state that those Old Stock Americans provided. They would often dirty their hands, definitely make mistakes, but one can’t be a hypocrite to not see they were key to the institutions + administration that it all stands on.
