Why do Christian Zionists think pre-Islamic Iran was some kind of pro-Christian society when in reality they were far more brutal and aggressive towards Christians than any Roman pagan ever was?Do they actually anything about Zoroastrianism beyond the misconception that it’s “the first monotheist religion”? Zoroastrianism is indeed a fascinating religion, but to describe historical Zoroastrianism as monotheist is laughably wrong.
>>18580856>“the first monotheist religion”?This one is by far the stupidest takes.Atenism is the first monotheistic cult.Anyhow, I don't think about these pro Israel types too much, since they reach out for whatever argument they need to ad hociley to push for whatever they perceive to be in Israel's best interest.
>>18580856They don't really, their idea of Ancient Persian-Christian "brotherhood" is entirely retroactive in nature. All they know is that Persia was a beautiful and famous ancient civilization who became the "first victims" of evil Islam, they don't really know or care about the details of what Persia was actually like.
>>18580856>they were far more brutal and aggressive towards Christians than any Roman pagan ever was?Depended on the Shahanshah (and Persian Empire), a few of them even had Christian wives. That said, the Sassanids cracked down on other religions much more than Parthian and Achaemenid Persias. >Zoroastrianism is indeed a fascinating religion, but to describe historical Zoroastrianism as monotheist is laughably wrong.Doesn't help when the religion Darius practiced was likely way different than what Cyrus even practiced much less the Sassanids centuries later.
Bump
Poor miaphysites, they got fucked over by the romans for not being chalcedonian and the persians for having "roman sympathies"
>>18581254dumbest and most arbitrary heresy award
>>18580860>This one is by far the stupidest takes.>Atenism is the first monotheistic cult.you switched those two statements around. atenism wasn't monotheistic.
>>18580856Ironically though, Christianity was the fastest growing religion in Sassanid Persia and they would have become Christian in another century should they have survived. All of Iraq and the northern Caspian regions of Iran had effectively become Christian majority by the time Islam rose. That's excluding the Manichean semi majority in Central Asia. Zoroastrianism was on a major decline as it was a theologically weak religion and the only reason it survived to this day was being surrounded by dirty jeets. Infact Hinduism was on the way out as well, if the bongs hadn't conquered India, Islam would have become the majority there too as the Muslim princely states centralized. Paganism is very weak against organized religions.
Incest, protocommunism and dualism is noy fascinating.
>>18580856Based. Shapur II killing Julian was ironically what caused the downfall of his empire. Both understood and persecuted the insidious christcucks but one was gone too soon
>>18581876Idk. if Hinduism and Zoroastrianism were eradicated, Avestan and Sanskrit wouldn’t be preserved and I think those languages are very useful for scholars since they helped us understand Proto-Indo-European.
>>18581876>Implying that the Sassanids didn’t already centralize and reform Zoroastrianism to make it an organized religion.>Implying that Christianity was popular outside of the empire’s non-Iranic minorities like Arabs, Armenians, and Assyrians.>Implying that Christians weren’t literally seen as a potential fifth column loyal to Rome due to Constantine and later Christian emperors tying the church to the Roman Empire.>Implying that Christian theology is somehow superior to Zoroastrian theology.
>>18580856because alot of Sassanian emperors were tolerant to christians, and the emperors tolerant to christians outweight the ones that persecuted them
>>18581876>fastest growing religion in IranLmao>Islam would've been the religion of India if it weren't for the britishDoesn't read a book or seen a map award. The mughals were in decline after aurangzeb. It was a matter of time before their jagirs rebelled just like the marathas did>>18582961You're expecting the troglodytes on this board to have read history. You expect too much

>>18580856Persians in general are dirty people. Every stereotype about oriental deviousness applies to them.
>>18583648Then why are their women so hot? Care to explain?
>>18583300I curse Vishnu, now fuck off and stop repeating lies about Zoroastrianism. Nothing you say is a “historical fact”
