Was it the atheism, democracy, equality, or media consooomption that killed birthrates

It really just is atheism. Look at Israel. Atheists/secular Jews lag miles behind Orthodox Jews in terms of fertility. Muslims in Europe have way more kids than secular Europeans (and this difference persists for generations it’s not just an immigrant thing). Same thing with hardline Christians in America.

It's because they ended feudalism. Wage labor is something that takes up most of your day; so you don't have time for sex/having kids. Also non-agricultural work requires less labor to do. So having more kids doesn't make sense; since the cost-benefit analysis of having kids would skew to having less, you would be needing to feed more mouths. Normies are hedonistic maximization machines; and under Feudalistic arrangements, having more kids make sense. Since pre-industrial agricultural work is easy enough for young children to do, unlike pre-industrial artisanal work (though factory work is easy, and we see a spike in the birthrate due to that fact).

I would disagree, the main factor is wage labor (especially technical/specialized work). If you are on welfare, it's easy to have more kids since the State will subsidize you. So the effort in having kids is lessened. And since the children of the welfare recipient don't have to make a living; they don't need to learn skills. In a homesteading arrangement, having more kids makes sense since they can help out in the work. It's more hedonistic to have more kids in that context. In low skilled work, it's easier to have kids (though it's more work as compared to a homesteader/welfare recipient arrangement); since it doesn't require a lot of work to teach the child. So social reproduction of the class is easier to do. While in technical/specialized work, it takes way more work for teaching the child, so naturally as a means of having the children socially reproduce the class; the parents have less kids, so that the children can actually become technical/specialized workers.

industrialization and increased living standards/education decreases the birthrate

>80% of France wasnt even industrialized
>industrial Brittany was fine
hmmm

Britain's industrialisation only pick up around 1790, from what I read, lowering birth rate in France were due to the laws that forced landowners to equally distribute lands among their children

It is imperative everyone here remembers the fertility transition here depicted means the Total Fertility Rate going from 6 to 3 to 2.5. The current fertility thing tormenting sloppers around the world is much younger. And ngl mostly attributable to contraceptics + to a lesser extent urbanization and economic pressures. If you want to go extra chuddy you could argue that Spengler was right and the intellect at ts full power simply cannot find a reason to have children. Which ngl I partially agree.

>Industrialized brittany
It was the complete opposite though. Brittany remained infamously undeveloped (by french standards) into the later 19th century. But I agree that France's fertility transition
And if you look it closely a small amount of La France Profonde stood out the transition.

Yes to all. Look at who has the most kids in America. It's the Amish, Hasidic Jews, and Somali Muslims.

It's the destruction of monogamy. This has been cataloged across different civilizations. We need stable marriages to reproduce.

>>18581138
Birth rates were high for centuries after the end of feudalism. Industrialization too.
It's never money, technology, etc. It's always marriage and sexuality.

Female secondary education desu, why does you think bill gates et al. is keen on in India / Africa?

>isn’t that a good thing?

Yeah? They aren’t maliciously evil, they know what they are doing. Unfortunately education of all sorts simply doesn’t work on Africans.

First it was the Cold War gloom, but what really cratered it was smartphones

Literally everywhere 5g is introduced birth rates tank.

it's not even the 5g signals scrambling your baby batter.

It's just that social media is just that bad for stable realistic social lives.

iI have a gf i love her very much. She's sweet and adorbs. But I can't lie that I have not been tempted by big titty goth baddies on instagram and the thought of "could I bag one??"

The absolutist (aka. feudal) “ancien regime” reached or surpassed critical demographic sustenance in 1788/1789.

25-26 million.
The total, critical biomass which pre-industrial, feudal, entity known as the “ancien regime” contained at the eve of the great republican revolution.

The abuses & periodic shortfalls just argue to themselves more on the fact. They didn't need more people but the multifaceted ordeals, plus the extreme hubris of the primogeniture principle of inheritance with the 'n'th spares on the line to contest big brother, made that a crucial problem for themselves.

>>18581176
The nobility can't seem to abstain themselves from having slaves. It's not the republican, capitalist, that wants you to suffer, you fawkin' socialist communist shit-4-brain shitstain...

“Just force social norms that has high degrees of making the husband and/or the wife be at each other's necks, until one kills the other, or proliferating infidelity to cope for the invisible cage.”

We've had this discussion before, your retroactive approach isn't the resolve.

>>18581753
How often do you feel the pressure to pay for the bills, mortgages, other expenses, month after month after month after month... after month after month?

You don't know what you're talking, you're not a real serious person.

>-

Tl;dr
The “heirs” got whacked by the “spares” into sharing/allotting the power, wealth, and influence that a feudal/absolutist system wouldn't have allowed; due to Clovis' short-sighted custom warbandintry law to give the first idiot sprung from the dynastic cunt all the privilege+benefits exclusively, whilst other idiots born afterwards to be sent into covenants to find daddy's love by fucking other idiots from other dynasties in the ass or and die in wars.

Feudalism was that it couldn't tackle the demographic boom since people are treated like bestial beings. Guess what: bestial beings have dreams, aspirations, hunger for power too...

>Feudalism v1.0 was that it couldn't tackle the demographic boom since people are treated like bestial beings. Guess what: bestial beings have dreams, aspirations, hunger for power too...

So the nobilities invented feudalism v2.0 (socialism) and feudalism v3.0 (communism) to turn time, not understanding why feudalism had and must remain gonzo.

What insanity is this. You think couples get along better now than under monogamy?
