how far back in time do you think we could go to snatch a baby from one of our ancestors, bring it to the modern era, give it immunity to modern diseases etc and be able to raise it and it would adapt and function relativly well in the modern world?
>>
Not that far back. Homo sapiens are a relatively recent species with very little genetic diversity.

This. Maybe 10 generation ago at best.

Maybe 3,000 years ago?
I say that date specifically because it's 'around' the time period when large, sedentary, agrarian, complex, bronze-age style societies finally started to consistently pop up across the world. "Anatomically Modern Humans" evolved something like 400,000 to 330,000 years ago, our immediate progenitor Cro-Magnon was (I think) 60,000 years ago, and agrarian peoples sometime 15,000 to 12,000 years ago.
I wouldn't be surprised if it took literally that entire length of time to domesticate, physically & mentally, ourselves into something that could meaningfully cooperate with and live within a large society.

It would have to be an ancestor that had similar brain capacity and aptitude for speech and language. You might be able to teach a homo erectus how to operate a rivet gun and do basic work tasks but if they struggle with language and complex social interactions then they wouldn't do well in society, even if their actual intelligence and hand motor skills were as good as ours. Neanderthal sure, a heidelbergensis might be able to cruise through special ed and be king of the retards.

Thats not an human species you retard.

Those guys likely didn't understand metaphors, and evidence for them having artistic abilities is pretty weak (they probably couldn't write). They were also less social, and their brains were kinda small once you ignore things related to sight. It really doesn't help that they also *might* have had much less nuerons in the frontal lobe. I strongly doubt any other human species is like us..

More human than you moshi

You can go pick out any random pure blooded aboriginal Australian or sub saharan African right now and they'll fail that test.
