Nope. Not hoplites had been around for centuries, and they had almost no trade links to the Gauls, and what trade their was wouldn't have included armor, especially to the greeks. Their only exposure to mail was during the one invasion of greece, be even then very few of the celts would have had any. Plus they didn't use it as neck protection either.


The simple reality is that your neck is pretty well protected when you have a large shield. Almost nobody in the ancient world armored it.
