>>18585472Sparse population mainly.Alos Knock Knock, it's the United States
>>18585488Plus the Californios and Nuevomexicanos did not identify as Mexican, had no loyalty to Mexico and chose to turn traitor.
>>18585564>identify as Mexican NO ONE identified as Mexican until 1910What the fuck are you talking about?
>>18585564>>18586217Technically speaking, Mexico was just one of the various Reinos that formed the Viceroyalty of New Spain, alongside others like Yucatan, Guatemala, New Galicia, New Vizcaya as well as the Audiencias of Santo Domingo and Cuba and the Capitancies of Caracas and the PhillipinesSo while the modern Mexican nationalism dates itself to the Mexican identity, there was already a Traditional Mexican identity that existed in the Central parts of the modern country, now called Chilangos
>>18585242How German are those parts today?
>>18585564The Californios preferred being ran by the United States and did little to help Mexico defend the territory. Like others said, the population in general was sparse, and Californios at the time largely made up of the wealthy land owning elite that were given grants by the Spanish and later Mexican governments which the US promised to respect once the territory was captured, which they ultimately did, even though much of the former Rancho land has since been sold off
>>18587101There's a novel called "The Lonesome Gods" by Louis L'Amour which depicts the early settlement of California by Americans and Californios.
>>18587529This map is very much inaccurate. I'm sure there are other areas with major mistakes, but just looking at the map I notice that all of Inner Mongolia (only ~17% Mongol, which is an increase from the ROC/early PRC years) is indicated as speaking Mongolian, which is blatantly untrue, Korean is vastly overstated, and Manchu is virtually extinct as a language (and has been for many years). The map doesn't seem to present an accurate picture of the modern situation or even any time period within living memory, and I am doubtful of whether there was ever any time period for which this map was remotely accurate.
>>18587529>>18587859This. I've been all over Inner Mongolia trying to document the Mong dialects there, and even to the Evenki Autonomous Banner looking for Evenki speakers. It's very difficult to find Mongolian speakers outside of bumfuck nowhere, and I didn't meet any Evenki speakers in the Autonomous Banner, only in a remote village outside of it that I was promptly kicked out of by cops.
>>18587171>London SeparatismThis may be the single dumbest idea for independence ever
>>18585472Fumble what? They had lines on a map, but basically no people living in most of that territory. Americans settled more people within 10 years of taking it from Spain, than Spain managed in the previous 200 years.
>>18587944It's always funny when a large city completely dependent on food, power, and water from surrounding lands thinks it can go it alone.>you're going to still give me all that stuff I need to survive without charging me more money, right?>right?
>>18585238>Conferedared Republic of Altai>kino flag>wants to restore Temujin's empire VGH steppebros
>>18587862Maybe you shouldn't have been trying to groom the kids there.
>>18588994different shades of brown with no labels?
if not alt-his then pre-his, borders and labels are guesstimates but it was a historical period attested by archaeological finds and contemporary writings
>>18589471Cartography before 1973 is actual pseudoscience You cannot make a real map before the GF satellites were up
