>the dozens and dozens of reports I’ve received from Brits, Americans, my Generals and my own spies about German buildup and plans to invade PocciaUSSR?
>all an elaborate Anglo plot to draw me into conflict with NG. Hitler is a sound individual with no strong feelings about jews, slavs and communists there’s no reason he would invade in the middle of his war with the West

How many times did Stalins paranoia backfire on him?

Stalin knew that he will soon get attacked, he just tried his best to delay it as long as possible to have time to reorganize the army. You can say that he was coping hard, hoping that his strategy of making nazis and West fight each other will eventually work out

GEE its almost as if hitler made a treaty of non-aggression and ceded significant portions of land to appease russia as proof of their partnership years prior to their betrayal to gain their trust or something.
what did the western powers ever do to russia prior to this and immediately after WWII that would make them not immediately believe they had russia's best intentions in mind i wonder ?
