On one hand, we are results of millions of years of evolution living on a rock among other infinite rocks, and religions seems obviously made up. On the other consciousness seems far too amazing to be generated by chemical signals alone, and the universe seems to be very fine tuned with all the physical laws and stuff.I don't know what to believe.
>>18587216Conciousness doesn't end, and the universe is cyclical. Technically, reincarnation happens, but it's the same life over and over again. Once you die, the equivalent of a trillion trillion trillion x etc etc. pass, and the same energy that you were comprised of before manifests the same being
>>18587216We don't have a developed scientific theory of consciousness, but what we do know suggests that consciousness is a chemical phenomenon that takes place in the brain. This is a reasonable conclusion seeing as consciousness can be effected, and even temporarily terminated, by biochemical processes, such as during the early stages of sleep, or when the body is exposed to anesthetics, or when the brain is starved of oxygen. That last example is particularly damning. If consciousness can be terminated temporarily due to temporary oxygen depravation, it starts to reason that consciousness can be permanently terminated due to permanent oxygen depravation.
>>18587358>We don't have a developed scientific theory of consciousness, but what we do know suggests that consciousness is a chemical phenomenon that takes place in the brain.Huh??Explain the behavior of particles then, dumbass.
>>18587362I don't understand what you want me to explain or how the wave nature of light refutes my arguments.
>>18587216Evolution isn't real, so it's a false tension.>>18587333Enjoy Hell.
>>18587365Just say youre not famkliar with the experiment, dont know about the observer effect nor know anything about modern physics. Retard.
>>18587367The king james bible is not the word of God, retard. How are you such a fucking moron?
Isnt it ironic how atheism claims to believe in science yet every retard that comes to dump their mental diarrhea is always sn ignorant fuck who has never read a paper or done anything science related
I wish heaven were real. But it probably isn’t.
>>18587362>>18587368>>18587377Consciousness does not collapse the wavefunction, Retard.
>>18587385Did you answer the question posed to your claim? If consciousness is something chemical and brain dependent then how come particles behave differently when observed... are you stupid? That implies that they are ruled by a law that tells them do y until x happens. That is not how the universe works at all and it implies intelligent design among many other things. Dumbass bitch, I have to spell everything out for you... how fucking illiterate are you?
>>18587368I assume you are confusing wave-particle duality with the uncertainty principle, which are two related but different concepts.Could you please explain how the uncertainty principle magically proves the permanence of consciousness?
>>18587395>If consciousness is something chemical and brain dependent then how come particles behave differently when observed...Dumbass bitch, its obvious you just went a googled this and dont understand a thing. Enjoy throwing rocks at the flock, im sure you'll hit something one day.Animal.
>>18587393You are extremely retarded and have no idea what you're talking about. Your namefagging is accurate.
>>18587393>>18587397>If consciousness is something chemical and brain dependent then how come particles behave differently when observed... The Copenhagen interpretation is one speculative explanation of the uncertainty principle with no well-defined understanding of what an "observer" is. It is not a scientific theory, and even if it was, it doesn't necessarily agree with what you are suggesting, that observation is inherently tied to human consciousness specifically.
>>18587406Sorry, not gonna argue with chatgpt. Better luck next time, buddy... did you learn what 0 is? >The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge [or science], but fools despise wisdom and instruction.>It is the glory of God to conceal a matter; to search out a matter is the glory of kings.<:^)
>>18587407I have given you many arguments. You just don't know what the hell you're talking about.
>>18587413>there's no sky>where do birds fly then, dumbass>BUT WHAT ABOUT THE COLOR OF DOGS, HUH. NO SKY. Sure thing, buddy.
>>18587417.. what the fuck are you talking about?
>>18587358>it starts to reason that consciousness can be permanently terminated due to permanent oxygen depravation.this is pointless.infinity passed prior to the existence of consciousness and the infinity that follows it's extinguish is no different. applying a proven possibility (you reading and comprehending this message) and applying it to infinity just means that it will occur again.
>>18587216The fact that I can disrupt or end your consciousness through chemicals definitively means it is caused by chemical signals. There isn't any debate about it. Even if I simply deprive your brain of certain chemicals (oxygen, for example), you will lose consciousness quickly. Quit being stupid.
>>18588037The car moves because it uses fuel, yet that has nothing to do with where the car is gonna be driven or where the driver pretends to go. Equating consciousness to chemicals is as dumb as saying that reality is an accident... yet here we are, listening to your baseless bullshit. You'd rather just ignore this, pretend it didnt get posted>If consciousness is something chemical and brain dependent then how come particles behave differently when observedAnd just keep on saying stupid shit you know is wrong. Youre a complete waste of oxygen.
>>18588042A car is made of chemicals, its fuel is chemical reactions. The human brain is made of chemicals, its fuel is chemical reactions. When I physically damage the car, it's unable to function. When I physically damage your brain, you're unable to function. You're a fucktarded golem.
>>18588079Well, fucktard...Who tells the organism to make those chemical reactions, huh? Who tells the cells to reproduce? Huh?Youre evading the particles question, but you cant evade this one too. Yes, dumbass, fire is a chemical reaction... but Who created the chemistry that allows that reaction? Who created the container that allows all that to happen whenever you mix the same ingredients following certain steps? The same entity that made particles react to observation.Dumbass, your gotchas only show me how shallow your knowledge is... straight out of chatgpt with minor edits. Youre pathetic. According to your retarded logic, we shouldnt be having chemical reactions because the universe is an accident that happened randomly so somethjng like chemistry or physics shouldn't even be a part of reality... youre so stupid you donr even realize how dumb you are. Truly ignorance is bliss, lol.
>>18587999>applying a proven possibility (you reading and comprehending this message) and applying it to infinity just means that it will occur again. That doesn't make any sense.
Wow, the Christians on this board are genuinely unpleasant people.
>>18587216an afterlife isn't necessarily desirable, people want to live longer but nobody wants to live forever
>>18587333This was considered common sense to pagans of course, and Nietzsche went crazy thinking about it.
>>18588366how is the infinity that passes after your death any different to the infinity that passed before you were born ?you were born and are able to comprehend things and reply to my message because you have consciousness right ?this proves that consciousness can arise from nothing.now repeating my statement.applying a proven possibility and applying it to a timeline of infinity assures that it will happen again. ergo, consciousness is (unfortunately) cyclically eternal.
Okay, so I realised that dying and before being born are very similar if not outright identical experiences. You don't have a functioning body in either. If you define dying as not having a functioning body then it's possible that you can exist again since being born is by using this logic gaining a functioning body. I'm not suggesting that reincarnation is necessarily what happens after you die. It's possible that you resurrect instead. I'd like this observation to be discussed because it's interesting.
>>18588709a counter-argument to it is that entropy, one of the thermodynamic laws of physics grows as the universe ages and that ultimately at one point all matter in the universe will become static and unable to generate any form of life.you can only really post your own theories or beliefs on what happens to create life, there is insufficient data to answer these types of questions and there always will be.it's just interesting to think about every now and again.
>>18588713I mean, entropy just says you can only only be alive to a point not that my theory is false.
>>18588704>applying a proven possibility and applying it to a timeline of infinity assures that it will happen again. No, it doesn't.
>>18587333t. Nietzsche
>>18588704>>18588875This assumption only works if you assume the universe is (1) infinite, (2) is continuously uniform and (3) has infinite entropy.Points 1 and 2 are contentious and likely unknowable and our current scientific theories indicate that point 3 is false.
>>18588704>this proves that consciousness can arise from nothing.Wrong. You have not shown that it arose "from nothing" to begin with.>applying a proven possibility and applying it to a timeline of infinity assures that it will happen again. Also wrong. Future conditions may ensure that something that was possible becomes impossible.
