Would you rather live in 500 BC Greece, 50 AD Rome, or 1500 AD Florence?

1950's Detroit

Florence was famously full of fags so we know ops preference.

Either, because OP would have not contaminated society with himself yet.

Do I get citizenship to any of these places or am I merely transported there?

50 AD Rome for sure. Peak of western civilization.
Only Empire in history that reached from the North Sea to the Red Sea

SPQR

You are there and gainfully employed with a guild of your choosing, as well as a wife and two infant children. Go.

Greece easily. I'm too Germanic looking to pass as a Greek, but I think I could pass myself off as a Scythian or Hyperborean like Anacharsis or Abaris and then wander around as some itinerant sage. Being in 500 BC would also give me a few years to make it to Italy so I could meet Pythagoras and learn magic.

As a wealthy aristocrat or as a pleb or slave? Because all of those places were extremely miserable for most of the population

50 CE Rome so I can prevent the rise of Christianity.

Florence. I would become a canon and sing polyphony all day.

50 AD Rome is the best place to live in by far, but it'd be a pretty boring place outside of slaughtering some barbarians here and there. Part of me wants to live in 500 BC Athens where I could witness the birth of a true democracy (not the oligarchic shit we have today) where every man could rise through the ranks and participate in politics. It'd be brutal, probably end in my exile, but a wild grandiose time.

Florence is cool and more familiar, but IIRC some serious wars are going on in northern italy around that time. So maybe rather rome after all.

>500 BC Greece
Complete ass. 95% peasant farmers and nothing intellectually interesting anywhere except in Ionia, which is about to be raped by the Persians in the Ionian Revolt. Why didn't you say 400 BC or 450 BC?

50 AD Rome mogs the other two in living standards and intellectual life, as long as you're not a slave.

50 AD Rome
Mostly because I'd be assured of a peaceful life, all I'd have to deal with would be the year of the four emperors. Even if I was in the army, I'd be on the winning side and much more likely to get rich off loot than die in battle.
That seems way better than what Greece or Florence will have to go through.

Greeks wrote about people with blue eyes their word for it was "glaukoi". They described Scythians but also Thracians as being predominantly glaukoi. Many greeks were also glaukoi, mythic ones like Achillies and historical ones like Alexander the great (actually heterochromia for him). Goes to show how much levant/anatolian immigration during the Roman period and later Turkic admixture really brownized the Greeks. But the ancient ones were whiter, they try to keep this from us

Florence was far more advanced than Rome or Greece, its GDP estimated at $1100 compared to $800 for Rome in 1990 dollars, whose economy still depended on droves of slaves.

This would come with the risk of diseases like the black death and smallpox, but major outbreaks were a rare thing and there didn't seem to be much difference in infant mortality or life expectancy, so this might not be as important as imagined.
