But no one seems to put much value in performative displays of hatred against rapists like they do pedophiles. It's like not being a rapist is taken for granted as the baseline, so proving you aren't one isn't meaningful. But there's this baseline assumption that many people are pedophiles and so proving you aren't one has social value. Which, I guess if you take into account the sorts of things that are called pedophilia today, belief that it is common isn't exactly unfounded.
