He admitted throughout is life that he saw Stalin as a tyrant, he saw all the progress the NAACP was able to make despite being under a Capitalist government, and he had every reason not to be a Communist because he was constantly drawing the ire from the Feds and his fellow Civil Rights Activists who wanted to distance him from the organization he founded.
