My theory is that the OT God Yahweh was based on a real human king who claimed he created the universe. You are familiar with how ancient writers used to deify their kings and write mythology about their leaders. They still do it in NK.

>"For the LORD thy God walketh in the midst of thy camp, to deliver thee, and to give up thine enemies before thee; therefore shall thy camp be holy: that he see no unclean thing in thee, and turn away from thee."

I feel like the oldest Bible documents refer to a literal human king giving orders to the army and everyone just thought he was God. And then after he died the God character transformed later into a more mystical entity.

The Zipporah story reads like it was a literal guy walking and he saw an uncircumcized person and got seething lol.

The oldest documents would be Job, which is clearly supernatural, and Yahwist sections of Genesis, such as chapter two, again explicitly supernatural. You could get away with parts of Joshua or first and second Samuel being read as a deified King, but you'd have to also account for the times the King was nowhere to be found. Not just in hiding, like David in some sections where the hypothetical narrator still knows where he's at, but just out of reach completely.

A teaching of Jesus is that no one had seen the Father. So Yahweh cannot be the Father.

Also compare these two verses (image) + John 8:44. In John 8 he also tells the jews that they don't know the Father, which means the Old Testament doesn't lead to God (see John 14:6).

Maybe Marcion had a point...

Paul literally says the OT is outdated, backwards, etc in Galatians
