My theory is that the OT God Yahweh was based on a real human king who claimed he created the universe. You are familiar with how ancient writers used to deify their kings and write mythology about their leaders. And then after he died the God character transformed later into a more mystical entity.The Zipporah story reads like it was a literal guy walking and he saw an uncircumcized person and got seething lol.

You could get away with parts of Joshua or first and second Samuel being read as a deified King, but you'd have to also account for the times the King was nowhere to be found. Not just in hiding, like David in some sections where the hypothetical narrator still knows where he's at, but just out of reach completely.
