I will never forgive the fact that after WWII it was a very rich country and yet they did nothing to beautify it. The Romans turned Rome into an open-air museum but the American elite couldn't think of anything better than passing the Highway Act. Not a Versailles, not a Forbidden City. The White House, the Golden Gate Bridge, and NYC are very nice but all of that was built before WWII. How is it possible that after achieving superpower status no president has ever thought of commissioning a great architectural work? fault of the American democratic system I guess. So far, only Trump has been megalomaniacal enough to propose something like that, and even his style is downright tacky. Wasting so much potential is a crime.
Anyway, what's your opinion on the "American Empire"?

I wonder what the Chinese will build in the future, given that their system is less bureaucratic. Perhaps they won't build anything. The way many Chinese cities have modernized in the turn of the century reminds me of what happened to American cities in the early 1900s

THAT IS BECAUSE UNITEDSTATES IS NOT ROMANICAL, BUT PHŒNICEICAL: UNITEDSTATES IS THE NEW CARTHAGO, NOT THE NEW ROMA.

AS A WHOLE AND FUNDAMENTALLY, UNITEDSTATES IS A COUNTRY OF MERCHANTS, PROLES, AND PILLAGERS, NOT OF ARISTOCRATS, NOR OF ARTISANS, NOR OF WARRIORS, THEREFORE, BEAUTY, IN ANY FORM, IS VERY LOW IN THEIR ORDER OF PRIORITIES.

SOME GOOD THINGS HAVE COME OUT FROM UNITEDSTATES —SIMILARLY WITH RESPECT TO THE PHŒNICIANS—, BUT, IN GENERAL, IT IS CIVILIZATIONALLY SUBPAR.

Depends if China ever do get the balls to invade Taiwan, and what the US response to that looks like.
If they do it and the US cucks out it's gg and America will never be respected again. Alternatively, if they do intervene and easily BTFO them then the Chinese century will be delayed indefinitely.
Despite material conditions changing (US economy eclipsed the UK in the 19th century) most people put the definitive moment the British Empire became a bitch of the US as the Suez crisis, which was almost a century later.

I think China will wait for the US to be a lot weaker, or fully tied up elsewhere before making a move, in the hopes that Taiwan would realize their isolation and quickly surrender. A direct military conflict between China and USA seems too mutually destructive to be on the cards. Like with Suez, I reckon it'll be a smaller, "easy", conflict that US gets involved in and fails so dramatically that China is left as the bigger power without even sending troops.
I do admit that a lot of this may be wishful thinking because I hate war and currently feel like we're on track for another global one.

Tbqh the “height” of the US was the late 19th, early 20th century. All the epic cities and monuments and shit you see are from that period. We were already an empire at that point too, just a continental one rather than the unprecedented role of uncontested global hegemon.

Everything postwar is just one long humiliation ritual. Our pioneering spirit disappeared. Our cities and industry died.

very improbable because americans are very culturally homogenous despite what they tell you. There's a strong national identity

I doubt so. Unless American soliders are clearly staging an invasion of the mainland, the CCP wouldn't want to make an already terrible situation worse by unleashing nuclear weapons.

Now I can see Russia doing this but in the event it's clear China loses a war with the US and Taiwan they'd probably just try and strike a deal over recognizing Taiwanese sovereignty over the US and Japan staging no troops on Taiwan.

There's no point to beautifying it. The rich already live in beautified areas or naturally beautiful areas, and the poor don't need or even really want beautification. What they want is more disposable income and more consumer goods to spend it on, which they generally have in spades.

The hegemony is undoubtedly the strongest in human history at any point, covering more space than Rome at its height, the Ottoman Empire, and the Chinese all put together with the scope of its military. It can hit people anywhere and everywhere, its culture spans the world whether people like it or not and its goods, trade and money are the axis around which the entire global economy revolves. Virtually all instances of bitching about Trump, the US or its military are just thirdies impotently screeching into the wind because they can't stand us being the undisputed World Protagonists for the next thousand years.

Though if they're lucky, maybe they arabs will try to take over Poland and Poland can whip their ass and take a good chunk of Europe into themselves, only after purging all the people there. I mean after all it not like they can complain now. That's what they do to others when they take over.

Half of America would sacrifice their lives to prevent billionaires from getting 1% more taxes and the other half would spend the tax on free shit for negros.

Hence why American architecture peaked a literal century ago.
>>
>>18612040
Well, anyone with a fucking brain can see they always sneak shit in by going after the hated group. Income Tax became a thing cause it was only for the 1%, and only during WW1. Guess what happen when that temporary tax on the rich got in. They quickly made it for everyone and kept raising it without people voting. Plus we see time and time again you can't trust anything the government try to push as temporary. Once they wedge it in, they try to keep it going and add to it.
>>
>>18612040
Increasing taxes on the rich isn't the answer, because it would basically force the government to be more beholden to them as the largest taxpaying group. The wealthy already contribute the vast majority of tax revenue anyways

The foreign invasion is already underway. Our national identity and unity have been so thoroughly destroyed that the popular response to any state seceding today would be "good riddance". And we are already well into the stage of shambling along with terminal economic and institutional decay.
The United States will not exist even in name by 2200 and will be functionally dead by 2100. And when it's gone, its principal territories will likely never reunite as a single entity. We had the greatest opportunity in all of human history. And we blew it.

I think people struggle to understand just how wide the gulf between China and the US is military wise because China loves putting on these extravagant military parades and such. That's not a knock against China, China simply has no interest in force projection like the US does, their military is geared towards homeland defense, nothing wrong with that, it's just that I wouldn't expect China to be waging multiple military operations on several continents in our lifetime

t. Qing emperor ranting how the imperial army is still the greatest in the world before getting raped by random europeans.

America today is blatantly the strongest military power on earth however the gap between America and other powers has gotten smaller since the end of the cold war. The American ability to exert it's military power has also been heavily constrained due to voters not wanting any actual wars again. Which is why America is currently losing to another shithole.

dubious statement considering the military has been a volunteer force since the 70s
>>
>>18612071
>Why do you think we put so much into the military?
To enrich arms manufacturers, thats why American weapons are so overpriced. How do you think that would work out when you’re up against an enemy that can make 50 times more missiles and drones than you because their military is focused on making cheap and effective weapons instead of enriching oligarchs
>>
>>18612073
China has every interest in force projection, the thing is as you said they know a direct conflict would be foolish at this stage, so they limit themselves to undermining USA's force projection any way they can and offering themselves as potential alternative for the future while growing internally. The USA is in many ways overstretched, which is why it's been working so well.
>>
>>18612073

Outdated cope, all the fastest growing economies in the world are all in the global south. While the west declines the global south rises so China will be able to replace the western market easily
>>
>>18612087
A genuine conflict between America and China (ignoring nuclear war) would just lead to both countries economically imploding that would lead to a ceasefire where both sides claims victory.

Also the American military is so expensive as every single screw has to get individually inspected instead of inspecting one for every thousand like in a regular industry. They do that as if a bomber fell out of the sky because of a bad screw they would look retarded.
>>
>>18612081
Less of losing and more of gets tired and just head home. Hints why the idea has been hide till the Americans get bored and then claim victory. It's the classic if I don't give up and they fuck off cause they stop caring "I win." The problem has been they need to finish the job not us. However often they just hide behind America and think we just keep fighting for them forever. Then shocked we say fuck this and head home when they're not want to do shit. Sadly part of it been due to bad command but still. The team we helping need to finish the job not just us. Cause half of the time when we leave it's not overwhelming they just don't want to fight at all.
>>

Went to shit when they allowed China to abuse global free trade with slave labor and a complete disregard for intellectual property. Annihilated most of the local production in the West and made it reliant on Chinese production. You should never make yourself reliant on countries that do not share your basic values. You might have to go to war with them in the future.

Also Israel has an undue influence on its decision making. Most of the middle eastern wars did not improve anything for the hegemony or global stability. It's a parasitical relationship that needs to be fixed.

Props to whoever planned that Russia-Ukraine proxy war. That operation has crippled Russia's economy and military to an unprecedented degree while only costing a fraction of the NATO military budget. Regardless of what the final outcome will be it's already a huge success.

That's why it's important to build buildings or monuments out of stone

>how our allies outside of Poland, Korea, and Japan aren't willing to build a military and just expect America to be their military
Youre retarded. The reason those countries have the most active militaries is because it was DESIGNED THAT WAY as a strategic resource allocation to counter COMMUNISM, you RETARD.

There's no reason to waste money arming some shithole like Mexico when you can just create strong buffer states around the enemy that would cripple them before they got a chance to make a move.

Architecture is an irrelevant gimmick. We literally achieved more in the last 100 years than in all of Homo sapiens history. Landing on the moon or decoding DNA is more impressive than any city or building ever created by humanity.

This is misleading. Most of these bases are nothing, literally just a few soldiers without any proper equipment. Central Asia don't have any permanent bases, same with Caucasus and most of Africa. Probably also true for South America.

During the recent Iranian war even many European NATO countries denied Americans their airfields.

They reject the idea of ethnical nations because they are a relatively new nation, so they are forcing the rest of the world to destroy their ethnic homogeneity and import millions of niggers( I was going to say a million niggers as an expression but I realized they were actually importing MORE than 1 million niggers).

I don't care if it's because of Jews or not, their racial blindness is destroying the western world and the reason we are getting flooded in Europe is because of them.

If Europe opened its doors to millions of immigrants it was by its own choice. Japan is a vassal state of the USA, arguably less autonomous than Europe, and yet they have always been quite careful with their borders. The fact is the USA and Europe are part of the same cancerous individualistic Western world

USA made a relentless stream of propaganda for decades towards Europe and also its own people. Your whole culture resolves around niggers, browns and suicidal empathy. And the japanese are starting to catch up with all of the woke nonsense.
