Why did they just stand there? Were they retarded?
>>18612634They weren't neo from the matrix so they never had a chance to dodge the bullets. I know it's confusing I always wondered why they didn't move faster than bullets too
rifles still had shit accuracy, so only way to guarantee you hit someone is to have multiple people shoot in same direction at once
>>18612634the guys in the back were there to shoot you if you didn't "just stand there"
>>18612634It's sad that this thread will probably become the most entertaining on the whole board. >Why did they just stand there?>Were they retarded?
bait thread which has been posted over and over again since this board was first createdmany such casesdead board is deadsage
>>18612931Should have dodge rolled their way around the battlefield
>>18613033On each hand an aspis and then the boys will start rollin', rollin', rollin', rollin'>what?and they will keep rollin', rollin', rollin', rollin'>what?all the way to Susa.
>>18612928>Stand thereYou have like 10% chances of getting shot and 50% chances to win the battle>Turn back and fleeYour buddies beside you see you, panic and follow you. Soon, everyone is dropping their weapon and runing back. Ennemy cavalry see this and quickly come slashing your back. 80% of the unit is lost while being routed and the battle is lost. They shoot you for eveyone's good, you included.
>>18612634apes together strong, bayonet poke horsey.it's that shrimple.
>>18612634Yes.Frederick the Faggot said if any of them could think, none of them would be there.
Because if they didn't they'd get raped by cavalry
>>18612634life sucked so bad that dying like that wasn't the worst thing.
>>18612634White men have balls.
>>18612634Given the technological limitations of the period, it would have been safest for them to stand in a straight line, side by side. This maximizes the amount of firepower available by maximizing the surface area of the guns. The most dangerous thing to do would be to stand in a single-file line one behind another, since one getting shot would result in multiple casualties, and they would not have the advantage of multiple lines of sight from which to fire their weapons. Running away would also be stupid, because it would allow the enemy forces to quickly eliminate you with no opportunity to return fire in an organized way. Standing side by side also protected against cavalry, which could quickly outrun and outgun a lone soldier on foot.
Why didn't they dig trenches?
