>Then a separate line that's not a part of this family tree is Baptists. >Baptist is just a catch-all name that has been applied to people who aren't part of this family, not part of this group, not part not protesting things in the Catholic Church, not trying to purify the Catholic Church and fix it, but the people that said it can't be fixed.>We don't want anything to do with it. >It's just independent people that are just independently with separate churches doing their own thing.>Never were part of fake Christianity. Don't want to be part of fake Christianity. Don't want to fix this because you can't fix it. >It's of the devil. So that shows you where these come from.>You see why it's important to be a Baptist because you don't want to have anything to do with the Roman Catholic Church. >Look, have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them. We don't want to be connected with the Catholic Church in our family tree.
>>18622137why does everyone hate puritans so much bros. They founded this nation to work hard and have a bunch of kids. Now literally everyone shits on them, saying they're responsible for liberalism, wokeness, schizo cults, frigid repressed sexuality, the Jews, everything bad.
>>18622137Yeah Landmarkists are revisionist historical illiterates. So what's your point?
>>18622146Because Latinx want to perverse our children (as always, since papists are known for being brown faggot pedophiles) and make us deny the religion of our fathers.Long live the protestant reformation
>>18622172
>>18622183Every single Baptist succesionist argument is laughable. It's pseudo-history.
>>18622247how can you be protestant and care about something as gay as succession
Fun Fact: there was not a single Baptist on the team that wrote the KJV. The KJV team also said the 1611 would need updates and was more concern with making a combined editions of the Received Text English, rather than replacing all previous Bibles. All in the 1611 preface. Give it a read. Also pastor Anderson beat his own children with electrical cords.
>>18622339The team that translated the KJV were mostly reformed types, I believe many of them were saved despite being wrong about Calvinism. But even if every single one of them is in Hell, or even if King James himself is in Hell, I wouldn't change my position on the King James because God can use whichever instruments he wants to spread his word. Christ-rejecting Jews were used to preserve the Old Testament. Who cares?
>>18622146Because puritanism is utopian and untenable you need exposure to minor sins to gain mastery over them
>>18623363>Christ-rejecting Jews were used to preserve the Old Testament.1) Ancient Hebrews are not modern day Jews2) KJV people did not preserve anything. They used many editions of the Received Text (like a compilation album) to write the KJV and used discretion for Greek, 1611 people could not translate yet. They even incorporated the Latin Vulgate.3) Even if you say the Received Text was preservation, Beza rejected older manuscripts from his edition of the KJV, not for historical accuracy but because it made Calvinism look bad. Also, I do not get why you kiss pastor Anderson's ass, but still a Calvinist. Anderson has sermons where he rejects Calvinism.
>>18623425>editions of Received Text*.Not KJV before the autist responds.
>>18623425>Ancient Hebrews are not modern day JewsTrue and irrelevant. Talmudic Jews preserved the Masoretic text. That's what I'm referring to. 0/1>KJV people did not preserve anything.True and irrelevant. My point is that God can use imperfect or even unsaved people as a means to disseminate his word. 0/2>Beza rejected older manuscripts from his edition of the KJVWho cares? 0/3>I do not get why you kiss pastor Anderson's ass, but still a Calvinist.I'm not a Calvinist. 0/4Final score: 0/4 = 0% = FYour critical faculty leaves a lot to be desired.
>>18623434You are not addressing how the KJV is not a preservation in anyway. The selection of the different Received Text used was a curation, compilation, etc. Meaning lots of MAN MADE creative discretions involved rather than discoveries. The Received Text is the actual preservation of manuscripts, while the KJV is just a 1611 English translation of it. And the Received Text people all had some sort of corruption. With Erasmus trying to get his edition out for a deadline; resulting in him using the Latin Vulgate. Or Beza admitting to omitting the oldest manuscripts he had because he was a Calvinist. >Who cares? 0/3What do you think the KJV was translated from? please explain to the class, what and which Received Text the KJV team was using. >Im not a Calvinistthen why the fuck do you keep bringing up the psychopath pottie in every single post you make. "but ____ said this about Calvinism". who the fuck cares. yet its every single post with you.
>>18623451>You are not addressing how the KJV is not a preservation in anyway.I'm not arguing that it is, so I don't see a need to address it.>What do you think the KJV was translated from? The original Greek and Hebrew.>then why the fuck do you keep bringing up the psychopath pottie in every single post you make.I don't. Take your meds.
>>18623457>I'm not arguing that it isThen what is it to you? Is the KJV a translation? preservation? Or are you just going to say God appeared at a commission of Englishmen. In 1611, and dictated every word like they are Joseph Smith. >The original Greek and Hebrew.please go one. What was this 'original Greek' ??? Does it by chance come from something that would later be referred to as the 'Received Text' and did such 'Received Text' have many different editions ? From multiple authors ? All of which were different sects ? And some had some corruption ? >I don't. Okay, ill remember this post every time I see you bring up Calvinism and predestination because you keep leaving your signature in every post.
>>18623481>Is the KJV a translation?Bingo.>please go one. What was this 'original Greek' ??? Does it by chance come from something that would later be referred to as the 'Received Text' and did such 'Received Text' have many different editions ? From multiple authors ?Sure, the Textus Receptus. They used the right texts, as evidenced by the final product of the King James.>Okay, ill remember this post every time I see you bring up Calvinism and predestination because you keep leaving your signature in every post.Meds.
Bump.
>>18622146So-called "based trad RWers" looked at the map for one second, saw that Puritans were from New England, and concluded that Puritans must be responsible for modern-day Progressivism. For most others, it's simply an axiomatic matter of fact that Puritans were horrible because of muh witch hunts or something. In reality Puritanism, even if flawed, is vastly superior to the current social order and it's not even close. >>18623373I would agree that their maximalist restrictions are wrong, but only due to being maximalist, social restrictiveness is still a net positive and the idea that society should be a free-for-all so that people could defeat temptations is ridiculous, and we see the results of that little experiment today.
>I'm not Baptist I'm non-denomonational>We believe exactly what Baptists believe (or in some cases, Pentecostal) but we totally aren't part of any denomination, it's in the name!
Seven simple Reasons why the Catholic Church is inarguably the real one true church:1. Jesus literally says that the church he founds on Peter will be His church and tells him to tend His flock, Peter then went to Rome and founded the church in Rome that became the Catholic Church and was martyred there2. Jesus said this church would never fall away or die off which means the idea that it became corrupt/needs to be reformed or replaced is literally impossible and this church has survived for thousands of years until now just like He said3. Jesus said "you will know them by them by their fruits" and be able to tell who His church and people are based on behavior compared to false prophets/churchs - and the Catholic Church is the most egalitarian and universal church having founded all kinds of charities and done good works on a global scale changing the whole world for their better, they are also the only one that is staunchly pro-life and against divorce and remarriage4. Mother Mary literally sings and prophesies in the gospels that "every generation will call me blessed" and Revelation depicts her being venerated in Heaven with stars, Jesus also foretells that Mary will be the Mother of the Church when he says to John on the cross "this woman is your mother" - all Protestant denominations have literally no explanation for this and are failing to call Mary blessed, as she foretold5. Catholic Bibles include the books of Maccabees which describe the Maccabean revolt against Antiochus IV - given certain prophecies in Daniel are literally about this happening, the book of Daniel doesn't make sense without this being included and so every denomination without falls into error interpreting prophecies that already have an explanation and already happened6. The Catholic Church is the most mocked religion in the world by all pop culture and other religions7. God's Kingdom was prophesied as becoming like a mountain covering the world, no other religion is like this
>>18626108>the idea that it became corrupt/needs to be reformed or replaced is literally impossibleCool, so you need to revoke Vatican II now.
>>18626340Vatican II doesn't somehow mean literal schismatics and heretics are suddenly correct and valid
>>18626396It does contradict with your statement that the church never needs reform. Also I like how people like you say that, and then libcaths say shit like "the church adapts with the times". Which is it then?
>>18626108>6. The Catholic Church is the most mocked religion in the world by all pop culture and other religions????born-again evangelicals and mormons are the most widely mocked and satirized and it's not even close. Hollywood makes pro-Catholic films like Conclave without a trace of satire and Catholics flock to see it in droves.
>>18622146Their disgust reaction is too strong. It makes them behave irrationally opposed to things that are different or unusual. And they make everyone suffer for it.There is no "live and let live" with them.
>>18626407>Hollywood makes pro-Catholic films like Conclave without a trace of satire and Catholics flock to see it in droves. It's not even a new phenomenon. When The Exorcist was red hot the catholic church publicly criticized it for making people think exorcisms are common, but privately they were satisfied with all the craze because the film portrayed Catholicism as the only faith capable of defeating evil. And yes people don't like to face the truth that pop-culture reviles Evangelicals more than any other religious group, either because it doesn't align with their own religious persecution complex, or because it doesn't align with their omniconspiracy about zionists pulling all the strings.
>>18626412You are tilting at windmills, seething over a cartoonish imaginary idea of a Puritan that never existed.Puritans were total Hellenophiles who'd learn Greek and name their daughters Athena or Penelope because they were obsessed with Greek philosophy and culture. They'd also grow wacky beards and moustaches.
>>18623425>1) Ancient Hebrews are not modern day JewsSure.>They used many editions of the Received Text (like a compilation album) to write the KJVThey could have also used the manuscripts directly like the Geneva Bible translators did.>and used discretion for Greek, 1611 people could not translate yet.Such as?>They even incorporated the Latin Vulgate. This is just something Scrivener made up centuries later. When you dig into it there are no actual examples (Scrivener's examples are all pathetic stretches to fit a theory he wanted to be true), nor did the translators claim to use it either.>Beza rejected older manuscripts from his edition of the KJV, not for historical accuracy but because it made Calvinism look bad.Such as what manuscript exactly?
>>18623434>Talmudic Jews preserved the Masoretic text.Actually they didn't. Those were medieval cultists who only cared about masquerading as Jews, and couldn't care less about the actual text of the Old testament in reality. There were Christian believers who historically knew the Hebrew and preserved the text (not counting translations), and all of this happened long before the Masoretes existed as a group. To be fair, the Masoretes' editions were close to the received Old Testament Hebrew text, but not identical. There are at least a few observable differences between the Bomberg 1525 text compared to something like the Biblia Hebraica 3rd edition of Kittel (or its source texts), which proves that the historical Old Testament used by the KJV is actually different from the Ben Asher Masoretic in at least a few places.>>18623451>With Erasmus trying to get his edition out for a deadline; resulting in him using the Latin Vulgate.Good thing the KJV isn't based on any of Erasmus' editions, including the first edition which was indeed rushed and based on far fewer manuscripts compared to Stephanus' edition. Compared to any of Erasmus' editions, Stephanus' edition of 1550 was the most accurate to the New Testament and had a much bigger impact on the Geneva Bible of 1560 and the KJV due to being more accurate in a number of places. Same with Beza's editions, though those came after 1560.
>>18626108>Peter then went to Rome and founded the church in Rome that became the Catholic Church and was martyred thereThis is a lie. As such, I'm ignoring the rest of your "reasons". Enjoy Hell.>>18626407>Hollywood makes pro-Catholic filmsBingo. They try to hide behind the Jew but Catholic control of media has been a huge problem since the 1930s.
>>18626499>This is a lieIt isn't. The two martyred witnesses described in the book of Revelation who are represented by the olive lampstands and are pillars of the Church are Peter and Paul, the early church fathers like Clement, Ignatius and Irenaus all wrote about it happening. Irenaus also says this>"For it is a matter of necessity that every Church should agree with this Church [Rome], on account of its pre-eminent authority, that is, the faithful everywhere, inasmuch as the apostolical tradition has been preserved continuously by those [faithful men] who exist everywhere.">"The blessed apostles, then having founded and built the Church (in Rome), committed into the hands of Linus the office of the episcopate...To him succeeded Anacletus; and after him, in the third place from the apostles, Clement was allotted the bishopric...In the time of this Clement, no small dissension having occurred among the brethern at Corinth, the Church in Rome despatched a most powerful letter to the Corinthians...To this Clement there succeeded Evaristus. Alexander followed Evaristus; then...Sixtus (the list continues)... In this order, and by this succession, the ecclesiastical tradition from the apostles, and the preaching of the turth, have come down to us.">St Irenaeus, Against Heresies (Book III, Chapter 3)To think that the church Jesus founded on Peter fell away or failed is a direct contradiction of Jesus' words. And if you don't think the church Jesus founded became the Catholic Church then what do you think happened to it?Was there no true church for over a thousand years until the Reformation?
>>18626506>Was there no true church for over a thousand years until the Reformation? There have been real NT churches since the time of Acts. You don't belong to one. Enjoy Hell, shitskin.
>>18626617you don't seem to try to act Christlike in your behavior towards others or how you speak or follow His commandments for how to interact with others in any way which is how I know that whatever church you belong to can't be the real one.Your behavior suggests you are in love with yourself and that the church you follow doesn't demand any change in yourself internally or towards others which is how you can tell it is of the world. You talk and act like how the world does, you are not different to it.
