Babylon has a rich history, especially it's capitol city, and it was the center of philosophy and astrology between every developed nation surrounding it at its peak. The way the bible describes it doesn't reflect what archeology demonstrates about the people who lived there. Abrahamists want to demonize the history of Babylon because for example the Codes of Hammurabi show that you don't need belief in Judeo-Christianity to develop a system of morality. and that's bad for the business of selling biblical programming.

It’s possible more American soldiers would have died than Japanese civilians were killed in the atomic bombing. The Japanese losses would have been much, much greater. So if you think Japan needed to be nuked to force a surrender? Bombs saved several million lives. If you think they would have surrendered anyway? Yah, it was pretty shitty. I’m not sure I think it’s any different than just firebombing a city, but destroying a city when the other side was going to surrender is shitty.
