What happened here before European colonization? How come they are more developed than India today when India had some 5000 years of history?

Hi, I'm a Bamar/Burman anon. I will try to explain as best I can from stuff I've read online and such but sorry if I'm only just saying references to docs. Hopefully I can give an okayish Burma perspective through.So basically before about 849 Burma was basically a bunch of tribes. Some sacrificed animals despite being Buddhists, Hinduists and some in-between too. But during the age of "King Anawratha", he purified the Buddhism of the area in he was being central of modern Burma by imposing a specific strain of Buddhism called "Theravada Buddism". He basically turned Burma which was once an unfarmable backwater into a massive irrigation center by building dams along rivers. He was also the first to create an actually unified closest approximation to a "nation" by establishing a state region of Theravada Buddhism and a specific Burmese alphabet, this was done through religious crusades pretty much and conqeuring nearby kingdoms.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-u5zh4MRDX4There were also periods of mass civil wars(naturally) where other non-Bamar kingdoms naturally arose or temporarily displaced the Bamars.
