Modern Judaism is called Rabbinical Judaism and is pretty much a cope built around denying that Jesus was the Christ prophesied in the Old Testament
Meanwhile, Second Temple Jews that acknowledge the divinity of Jesus as the Christ converted to Christianity and the closest modern version of their tradition would be Orthodox Christianity
So yes, they're both from the same origin, but the Rabbinical Jews are uh doing a very foolish thing by denying their own messiah
