How to make authentic ancient Jewish unleavened bread so I can celebrate passover like Jesus did? Do I need to gather low quality barley, grind the seeds in an ancient stone grinder, but leave it a little course, mix it with river water and then shape it into an assymetrical circle and leave it on a hot stone in the sun? Or did Jews have old fashioned clay ovens? Sounds like it tastes like shit and is not nutritional. Lol.
He used fine ground wheat flour actually. Not rye or barley, where did you get that idea?
>>18653171I thought barley was for the poor people back then because it is lower quality bread. If wheat is cheap why would anyone pick barley? Lol.
>>18653225Jesus wasn't really that poor to begin with, that's a common myth. His family were comfortably middle class, and his extended family might have been of some wealth if we take the context clues of Joseph Arimathea into account. They had enough money during his ministry to afford expenses like perfume, in fact many of his parables use money advice as vehicles.Besides, Egypt was the mega wheat exporter of the world back then and literally right next door.Wheat wasn't actually that expensive because of that large supply.Like, they could afford a lamb to go with the meal too. It's a special occasion, not just any old meal.Even the poorest people could afford rye bread, as seen in his miracle of the loaves.Barley was mostly used for beer, not bread.
Like oh Christ had all these parables about specifically wheat, how it illustrates the death and resurrection of the body, BUT he never actually ate it even though he said that this bread is my body.
You shouldn't obsess over the material bread, it's a symbol in the first place.
