Is the drying up of the rivers of euphrates a sign of the end times? I'm honestly afraid that i can't be saved, i've never been religious and can't imagine being even remotely sinless for a moment
>>
>>18653015
Don't be retarded, there's no end times. At least not until the earth becomes unable to sustain human life, which is a point even the current rapid climate change won't bring us to. It's just a sign of bad times.
>>
>>18653019
Are you saying this as an edgy atheist or as a catholic with biblical knowledge
>>
>>18653019
all it takes for the end times of humanity is a transmissible prion disease like the one we already see in american deer. seems quite fitting for the boastful criminal brains to literally rot helplessly in their bone cases
>>
Jesus never asked you to be sinless.
what are you on about
>>
>>18653066
Yes he did
Matthew 5:30 btfos most denominations
>>
>>18653015
Ask God to have mercy on you, repent and believe the gospel that Jesus died to cleanse you of sin
>>
>>18653015
Wasnt this going to happen eventuall the middle-east has been slowly began desertifying since 4000 b.c and the climate also turning more arid

Something happening naturally doesn't mean that it isn't prophecy. If anything it could mean that there is something that knows the beginning from the end. But it would be impressive if they could predict that the river would dry up eventually

that is out of context
mortal man can not become sinless in this form
Stop being a denier of Christ
>>
>>18653077
>Matthew 5:30
also it defeats the whole purpose.
> hey anon just don't sin, you don't need Jesus
>>
No it's not a sign of the end times. Mainly because everything could be a sign at any point in time, and it always isn't the end times until we finally fuck up and launch all the nukes. Then you'll be able to say you were right about whatever thing you think was a sign and post it on here I guess.

The river euphrates drying up is a specific event that happens in the end times in revelations
>>
>>18653130
I really dont want this argument because this is not the topic of the thread. No one so far has given me a good answer.
>>
Maybe, but the rivers and seas haven't turned to blood yet, so I think you've still got plenty of time. Sorry if that means you're losing a bet.

Are you implying it's just a natural change in climate that would've been deadly for people back then?

there isn't anyone who can't be saved, God can save everyone.
Pray to Jesus and say you are sorry for all of the sins you have ever committed (list as many of them as you can think of, even) and that you want to let him into your heart and to guide you. Read the gospel of John and John's letters (1 John and 2 John) and Paul's letter to the Ephesians (if you do not have a Bible to hand then simply read online on biblegateway; preferably KJV translation but you can start with ESV to understand it simply if you want). Then find your nearest church and see where He takes you.

Pray the Lord's Prayer (Our Father...) regularly in the quiet of your own room and when out and about silently pray the Jesus Prayer often in times of trouble ("Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me, a sinner")
God help you and bless you anon.

Why kjv specifically?
>>
>>18653290
because it's the only version that includes the 'Johannine comma' in 1 John that affirms the Trinity unambiguously, and I simply do not trust secular academics who claim that it was an insertion there's just something dodgy to me about every other English translation not including it; also just the fact that the KJV is the oldest most well known English translation so likely freer from any modern influences possibly affecting the theology in the translation. I have only recently started thinking this about it and could be convinced otherwise but it's neither here nor there.
Your salvation is not dependent on a translation but in faith in Jesus alone, ultimately.
>>
>>18653366
I don't see a point because it seems like most english versions affirm the trinity. Catholic and orthodox also affirm this as well so i don't understand other than as a way of making them seem less legitmate.
>>
Why is no one giving me a good answer
>>
>>18653437
fair enough
>Catholic and orthodox also affirm this as well so i don't understand other than as a way of making them seem less legitmate
Catholic and Orthodox aren't sticklers for which translation to use and aren't opposed to someone using a KJV as far as I know; I wasn't trying to make them seem less legitimate by saying this or anything.

an answer about what? the river Euphrates drying up being a sign of the end times?
I suppose it probably is. You don't need to fear though, if you have faith in Christ.
>>
>>18654748
Which denomination are you? Catholics pretty much believe catholism is the only way.
>>
>>18653015
>river is drying up because its source isn't receiving enough rainfall
>GOD IS PUNISHING US, IT'S THE END TIMES, EVERYONE START PRAYING FOR SALVATION
Kek, religitards are so funny.
>>
>>18655073
This is literally the first recorded time in history it got this low.
>>
>>18653015
>Is the drying up of the rivers of euphrates a sign of the end times?
Yes. The real question is: Does this mean that the end of times is coming? It's impossible to know whether it will happen until it does or does not.
>I'm honestly afraid that i can't be saved, i've never been religious and can't imagine being even remotely sinless for a moment
Idk, most Christian denominations hold it's never too late to be saved.
>>18655371
This is the first recorded time in history the Climate has been like this, too.
>>
>>18653015
Isn't this just Turkey hogging all the water by building dams?
>>
>>18655382
I mean regardless of the cause i think it's worrying

>>18653149
>>18653493
>>18655073
>>18655371
>>18655390

It's drying up because it has almost 22 fucking dams you nitwit ooga boogas.
It's going to dry up MORE because every cunt thinks they can squeeze in another dam.
>>
>>18655397
Ok this is the best secular explanation. I just have a fear that it draining could still be part of revelations but this has been the best secular post so far.
>>
>>18655397
>Turks flooded precious neolithic sites to build dams and then went on to building another 20 dams downstream anyway
Okay that seriously pisses me off
>>
>>18655397
>>18655399
nothing about it having a manmade explanation means it isn't still the event that was prophecied
