We're all too familiar with the 'rowdy teenager' phenomenon by now. The racist South has been utterly vindicated.
>>
The quickest rundown is that his dad was an executed rapist/killer, he was a 'troubled teen' in Chicago, and his mom sent him 'down south' to a more rural area so that he could mend his troubled ways and learn some manners.

Instead, he got sexually aggressive with a married white woman, may have fondled/molested her, and then got uppity and aggressive when others found out about this and demanded that he apologize.

That seems to be the most likely course of events.

I feel bad for the Cambridge guy desu. Was he a plagiarist and liar? Yes. But he was also retarded. That’s not really an excuse but it never would have mattered if some retard was trying to plagiarize if the people around him didn’t hype him up and put him in the spotlight. They used a retarded man to make a political point and then the retard killed himself when they backlash hit. If they were going to take advantage of a retard they could have at least stuck by him and defended him. It really show that deep down they don’t really care about these people and will throw them away once they’ve stopped being useful.

Remember that the journalist who said she confessed to him that she made it up said she did it when he was changing the tapes and for some reason didn't bother to repeat herself when the new tape was ready or say the same thing to any other journalists? And then the same journalist was arrested for storming and barricading himself inside a school to demand that black students be bussed around the city to schools in white neighborhoods?

prager u is one of those boogeymen that i only ever hear discussed in the context of liberals complaining about its misinformation and how many chuds it has brainwashed, without ever once encountering someone in the wild engaging with it positively.

it's like when someone hears I'm american and starts complaining about "megachurches" as if that's something I'm supposed to be aware of. I don't think I've ever even seen a picture of a megachurch. Maybe once or twice when Barnes and Nobles was around, I saw a Joel Osteen book, and my mom told me he was a scammer. That's the extent of it. Yet from the way people talk about them you'd think they were this behemoth of a cultural force.

>>
>>18656766
I don't think nigger is just a word and that they shouldn't get upset about it. What's twisted about the current-day dynamic is that *only* the nigger word is allowed to trigger a proper hostility reaction from its target. There used to be times where honorable behavior was expected in public and you couldn't just say or do whatever you liked, and there would be consequences if you stepped out of line. Emmett Till the rowdy teenager faced the consequences.

>In 2017, historian and author Timothy Tyson claimed that during a 2008 interview with him Carolyn Bryant retracted her testimony that Till had grabbed her around her waist and uttered obscenities. Bryant and her daughter-in-law, who were present during Tyson's interviews, disagreed, stating that she never recanted. The jury did not hear Bryant's testimony at the trial as the judge had ruled it inadmissible, but the court spectators heard. The defense wanted Bryant's testimony as evidence for a possible appeal in case of a conviction. Tyson also reported that Bryant said she could not remember the rest of the events that occurred between her and Till in the grocery store, but said that: "nothing that boy did could ever justify what happened to him."

>An editorial in The New York Times said, regarding Bryant's alleged admission that portions of her testimony were false: "This admission is a reminder of how black lives were sacrificed to white lies in places like Mississippi. It also raises anew the question of why no one was brought to justice in the most notorious racially motivated murder of the 20th century, despite an extensive investigation by the F.B.I."

>The New York Times quoted Wheeler Parker, a cousin of Till's, who said: "I was hoping that one day she would admit it, so it matters to me that she did, and it gives me some satisfaction. It's important to people understanding how the word of a white person against a black person was law, and a lot of black people lost their lives because of it. It really speaks to history, it shows what black people went through in those days."

>The U.S. Department of Justice reopened the investigation into Till's death in '17. Tyson's account of the alleged recantation wasn't considered credible by the DOJ due to numerous inconsistencies and financial motives and the investigation was closed in '21 stating "There is insufficient evidence to prove that she ever told the professor that any part of her testimony was untrue".

>a lot of black people lost their lives because of it. It really speaks to history, it shows what black people went through in those days

What's wrong is that you were definitively proven wrong already in this thread. Till's victim did state he grabbed her waist and told her "i've been with white women before", and she never recanted her testimony. The Smithsonian sugarcoating his actions doesn't make his actions go away, no matter how "official" their report may seem to you.
>>
>>18657205
The official story doesn't make any logical sense. The town was 30% black, so it's not like people got killed there just for being black. Logically (and what I suspect happened) is that he fondled/molested the lady, got caught, and then continued behaving arrogantly after being confronted.

He came from Chicago and probably tried to act like a Chicago street kid, which was the wrong way to handle that situation. Instead of apologizing and taking his medicine, he went on the attack, and got ended.

That narrative makes the most sense given all of the other known facts, and the setting.
>>

>60 years later, Bryant, confessed to Duke University professor Timothy B. Tyson that she had lied about this entire event.

Till grabbing Bryant by the waist and making obscene suggestive remarks to her is a matter of fact, which she has not recanted.
Your spiraling sperging out started by claiming that
>the claims were based on "hearsay" rather than Bryant's claims
then
>he merely brushed her hand, that's not molestation
Refusing to engage with him grabbing her waist even though it was already laid out to you. Then
>that Bryant recanted her testimony
After that, you started incoherently quoting "official sources" all over the place as if that would make the truth go away.
Bryant's testimony has not been lost to time - https://news.wttw.com/sites/default/files/article/file-attachments/till%20transcript%20pages%201-249.pdf
On page 38 you will find a report summarizing Bryant's testimony by the FBI.
>she held her hand out for him to place the money
>instead he caught her hand with a strong grip and said "how about a date, baby?" and she had to jerk it back to free herself
>he then went behind the counter and grabbed her by the waist, saying "what's the matter baby, can't take it?"
>he then used explicit language, including "*an uprintable word* with white women before".
Again, she never recanted this version of events. The 14 year-old rowdy teenager Emmett Till molested her behind that counter.

Tyson's narrative can be considered debunked on the following basis - both state and federal authorities were trying to build a criminal case against Bryant for years. But none was ever filed. Due to lack of evidence.

This implies quite strongly that Bryant never 'recanted' her original story to investigators (had she recanted, they could and would have filed a case against her). It also strongly implies that Tyson had no actual evidence of his claims - he was interviewed by authorities, but never produced any kind of recording or other documentary evidence that Bryant 'recanted' anything.

In other words, the only source for his claim is "Just trust me, bro!" But why SHOULD we trust him?

I don't understand why people try to bring up this gotcha. The implication here is that Bryant, a married woman in the 1950's who told first thing to her husband what happened to her and later testified in court in his defense, is equivalent to a 21-century woman who regrets having sex and uses that to ruin a man's life in the court of public opinion. There is no equivalence here, #believeallwomen is retarded AND Till groped Bryant.

No.
It's a fact that it was her testimony but it's not a fact. It's not even necessarily the truth.
>the claims were based on "hearsay" rather than Bryant's claims
That's because my initial analysis in Britannica does not even bring up Carolyn's testimony. Most of the sources I cited didn't bring it up either. So, while an omission on their part, it also lends to the idea that there is more than just her testimony.
>Refusing to engage with him grabbing her waist
I did say that though. Here: >>18657154

>"official sources" It's weird that you make that quote. I didn't started saying that until you did and in retrospect, it doesn't make sense. They're not 'official'. They're trusted sources. But, they are at least sources. Which is more than what I was getting other than just being told than I'm wrong.
As for the link with the testimony. That doesn't really conflict with any of the the sources. A couple of them either bring up or state something to the extent. Maybe not using the exact same language.

No.
It's a fact that it was her testimony but it's not a fact. It's not even necessarily the truth.
Moving the goalposts. What you just wrote doesn't justify the horrid things you said in the following posts:

>That's because my initial analysis in Britannica does not even bring up Carolyn's testimony. Most of the sources I cited didn't bring it up either. So, while an omission on their part, it also lends to the idea that there is more than just her testimony.
>As for the link with the testimony. That doesn't really conflict with any of the the sources. A couple of them either bring up or state something to the extent. Maybe not using the exact same language.
It's called obfuscation, misleading and lying by omission which for some reason you are perfectly fine with. You admit to their flawed reports misleading you into ignoring her testimony. Otherwise, why would you even bring them up to contradict the claim while saying only "PragerU" or whatever would say he sexually assaulted her? Because their reports were maliciously framed, in particular their glowing mention of the testimony being "recanted".

Because they believed they had been imparted with a soul that would be called on again to serve its function within the heavenly kingdom which the Son established upon the earth. nothing changed either. Oxbridge will still enforce DEI, police wrongspeak, and selecting against intelligence and creativity in the humanities.

The real people who need to learn their lesson are Cofnas and other "post-liberals" who despite their heterodox beliefs, dedicate their lives to shucking and jiving and playing villain for liberals who hate them and want them strung up.

It's not fun or cute any more when someone like Cofnas turns around and goes, "but the chuds are bad too! They don't believe in global warming or vaccines!"

HBD post-liberals never use the intelligence their so proud of to do a simple Nash equilibrium and realize the only favorable future for them is one where the chuds win politically, because in chudverse you can survive as anti-DEI and pro-vaccine, but in libverse you can't.

They bring up that he was a deranged activist who broke into a school because he wanted it to support forced busing. He had a clear motive to lie about Bryant's "recantment". Coupled with the DOJ and FBI concluding there was no evidence for her recanting, your precious Smithsonian still presenting it as fact should make them as unreliable to you as the big bad PragerU.

Bryant's testimony, and the falsehood of her "recantment" story have already been established in this thread before you even popped up. You're crucifying me for not treating it as gospel.
>>
>>18658828
>it's barely a footnote in major sources
No anon, it *is* the major source. Bryant's testimony holds more weight to the consideration of this case than the Smithsonian's official narrative, surely you understand how straightforward that is right? The Smithsonian reducing it to a footnote only reflects upon the Smithsonian's conduct and reliability.
And I see you still cling to the speculations and vouchings from some woman and Till's brothas, that's adorable but Bryant's testimony is still the single biggest piece of information from the trial. She describes in detail what happened (Juanita Milan meanwhile admitted she wasn't even present in the store) while Da Brothas all gave evasive answers like "I wasn't there the whole time but when I walked in everything was fine teehee".
And she never recanted the testimony.
>>
>>18655159
One of those cases where even if you don't deserve to get killed for it, who is really surprised? It's like if a white guy went to the ghetto, called everyone a nigger, and got killed - nobody would care.
>>
>>18658848
Well, the alleged perpetrator didn't get to have a trail. So, it's only really her word along with a few others.
Regardless of how robust her testimony is, it can never be anything more than an account. It doesn't help that there is no evidence. No semen. Nothing.
We can't say this is a well rounded case.
It is flawed and is largely overshadowed by the killing of the alleged perpetrator.
I consider this an impasse. I think I've learned as much nuance about this case and have argued the murkiness of it.
There's no point in me continuing.
On your point you'd just want to lambast me and others and possibly you here would argue why Black people are subhuman dregs.
I am done.
>>
>>18658138

Either way the point of bringing this up is to scare white women into not reporting rape. People will be skeptical if the female is white and the male is black. Like to whole notion of not calling the cops on black people. Social justice is about revenge. They weasel around this by claiming broadly that White people have privilege, equality feels like oppression to the privileged, black people had it worse, so don't complain, etcetera etcetera. If they claim it broadly then they can deny it when looking at individual cases. Social justice advocates promote an ideology that uses past events and generalizes a race to justify present day mistreatment. Basically what their ideology is saying is that if someone's grandmother was raped and it severely impacted their lineage, then her grandson could rape the rapists granddaughter and it would be justice. You could swap this with robbery or any injustice/crime. It's actually worse because by generalizing all white people, they're applying it to everyone no matter how long ago it was or if their family actually harmed anyone. It's this kind of commie logic: it's okay to rob someone who lives in a multi million dollar house because they probably acquired the money by fucking people over. It's the most immoral framework and it's not logical either.
>>
>>18658990
Oh yeah it's totally the left which discourages women from reporting rape and not the manosphere incel right.
>>
>>18657143
Exactly. It's not about the word, but that they're creating rules for certain people, but not others. It also is disingenuous because they complain if people defend themselves from thieves. They're very upset if a victim takes it too far, but they have zero problems if a black person beats the shit out of a white person for saying the word nigger or calling them a nigger. There's no equivalent for anyone else. There's fighting words i guess, but odds are they call you a psycho for beating someone badly over it. I genuinely think they would give a black person a pass for severely harming someone. Their mentality is that if you say the word, what happens next is your fault and basically fuck around and find out. You can't have a society where one group gets to act like that and others don't. Same goes for other social etiquette. You know they would hesitate to tell a bunch of black people to be respectful if they were being loud. By not treating everyone equally and giving a pass for anti social behavior they promote societal decay. Ironic that progressives think they could create and maintain some sort of utopia based on European ideals. The second too many black people have to be told to act right, they'll cry racism and it goes right down the drain. Progressives are only capable of policing whites and other races according to their hierarchy in the oppression pyramid.
