How would the Spanish Republic have turned out if they won the civil war?
soviet puppet
>>18660959Eaten by the Nazis/Italians
>>18660959Get Yugoslavia'd by the Germans on their way to grab Gibraltar in 1940 or 41.
>>18660959This >>18660963 and then this >>18660964 or this >>18661305After the germs get inevitably defeated, the monarchy probably wouldn't have been restored and Spain would be a republic similar to France or Italy during the Cold War. It probably wouldn't be as poor as it were in our timeline, they would probably get help from the Marshall Plan and develop it's economy way earlier than it did.
>>18662240>After the germs get inevitably defeatedThey would have won easily with Gibraltar in the bag
>>18661305probable France would have signed the Axis pact with Italy at least and they could count on Portugal as well. maybe Germany too. No way was Western Europe going to accept a Stalin puppet in their midst (then).UK I dunno. Might have sided with Stalin.

>>18662311Francoist Spain was a shithole and had to recover from it's civil war alone.
>>18662322>Francoist Spain was a shitholeUseful idiot believed this lmao
>>18660959They would invite all of Morocco to live in Spain by the 1960s provided they survive past ww2, basically if you think the current demographic situation is bad in Spain, I'd be 100 times worse
>>18662659Fun fact, the very first thing the republicans did when the civil war started was to bomb Tetuan during market day, for teh lulz
>>18662666Yeah, and as an apology they would have given them all houses and gibs like they do today had they won
>it would be a Soviet puppet!>it would be filled with even more immigrants!Yeah, no. If the Republicans had won Spain would become (glorious) Yugoslavia 2.0. Like them tourism would be a big part of the economy and they would join the Non-Aligned Movement, the Soviets would probably try to assassinate whoever would be in charge just like they did with Tito.Assuming they also abandon Communism for crapitalism at the end of the 20th century like the Eastern Bloc did they would end up with far fewer immigrants. MENA immigrants aren't lining up to go to Romania or Bulgaria after all.
>>18662806>all descedants of Republicans felate and worship Nafris>they would never bring them to Spain
>>18662322Francoist Spain had higher stands of living than any leftoid shithole
>>18662810What descendants?Republicans either fled the country or we're killed en masse during the Civil War and subsequent terror.
>>18662322From 1960 until Franco died, Spain had the second fastest growing economy on earth after Japan.
>>18662810Why are you using existing timeline to argue the republicans would be huge mass immigration enthusiasts? The old left was very much against mass immigration as it wasn't in the interests of the workers. Alt-republican Spain would be more akin to Yugoslavia or former DDR.
>>18662240>the monarchy probably wouldn't have been restored and Spain would be a republicIf you let the Falangists, Francoists and the Monarchists out of the government, you end with the Republicans, who were just a bunch of commies and anarchists. And even if some of them were not as hardcore as the Soviets, they were still pretty "red" themselves.>they would probably get help from the Marshall Plan and develop it's economy way earlier than it didThey would have pocketed the money instead of creating industries or developing their urban centers, like it happened in the late Francoist era. Or worse, they would have given all the money in the form of "aid" to Cuba and the other Latin American and African commie shitholes as a form of "solidarity". Money that could have been spent on weapons and keeping the commie governments afloat. The irony here is that I genuinely can't think of a politician who could have done a better job than Franco and who wasn't already part of his side. So I don't know who could you put in charge in this hypothetical scenario.
>>18662830Fascists have to pretend that the timeline where they won (the one we're on) doesn't suck donkey dick so they desperately want you to believe that the one where they lost is much worse.
>>18662659They would certainly not allow North African muslims who declated a jihad on secular republicanism and were Franco's best soldiers to immigrate in large numbers. Maybe sudacas and random black Africans, but not traitorous Moroccans.
>>18662830>The old left was very much against mass immigration as it wasn't in the interests of the workers.Russia went from genociding and replacing Muslims in their country to importing them and worshipping them today, times change>Alt-republican Spain would be more akin to YugoslaviaSo it would be majority Nafri? If Yugoslavia didn't collapse in the 90s it would be majority Bosniak and Albanian while the Serbs, Croats and Slovenes would become a minority
>>18662877>Maybe sudacas and random black Africans, but not traitorous Moroccans.>maybe shit, but definitely not yucky piss
>>18660959Honestly, Spain got lucky Franco became the one at charge in those years. He was pragmatic enough to understand the diverse characters that were his peers and to maneuver the political climate of its era.Even the other Falangists were not really that smart and could have ended fumbling the ball sooner or later.
>>18662919I'm just saying that if you'd read a single book in your life you'd know what the Regulares and commies did to and thought of each other.
But how did Spain managed to still become a woke leftoid shithole anyways even after decades of fascist rule?
>>18663080Because the fascists didn't kill each and every republican. And the following decades of fascist rule kind of galvanized people against Falangists. Franco's rule wasn't really all that successful economically.
>>18663080Because once Franco died his government collapsed, the king betrayed the movement and aligned with the UN and NATO, and he kickstarted a "democratic transition" which consisted in inviting back all the exiled politicians who fled under the Franco regime and they organized the new government. Then, a political an ideological hypercorrection happened, and Spain became what it is today.
>>18662240Whatever the Republicans would have gotten from the Marshall Plan wouldn’t compensate for being another WW2 Battlefield + Post-War Political Instability + Power vacuum. Republican Spain would probably be less like Italy but more akin to Greece, dealing with a vacuum of legitimacy.
