>be belgium
>occupy rwanda
>create racial caste system based on phrenology-tier psuedoscience
>enforce rigid social division and require people to carry identity cards with their caste
>leave all of a sudden
>these fake racial groups begin killing each other and have a 30 year civil war
>rwandan genocide with 500k+ dead
Curious to me that le heccin evil American manifest destiny is the only thing that ever comes up in "colonization" discourse but Europeans are conveniently let off the hook for the dozens of atrocities they caused in the rape of Africa

Wrong. Next

So what happened professor? Or are you just a faggot like I thought?

I don't know if things in the US are different and extremely America-centric, but I've personally seen a lot more critique towards what Europeans did in Africa than what happened in North America.

You don't hear much about the Belgian colonialism discourse because you aren0t Belgian and Belgium is a small country that only barely matters because the EU is inside it-

You make it seem as if the Belgians invented Hutu and Tutsi when it isn't the case. They certainly hardened the division between them and that's where the criticism is. Also I don't get the "fake racial groups" part as if they planted the big bad racism trait in their heads and made them kill each other. Different cultures of people who are otherwise racially/ethnically have been killing each other over cultural and lifestyle differences forever. The strict social division and the favoritism the Belgians displayed towards the Tutsis is enough to criticize, you don't need to make stuff up in addition to that.

people who are otherwise racially/ethnically identical*

>it's Belgium's fault that Hutus and Tutsis decided to kill each other
>Belgium exploiting the Congolese was bad but Arabs and the Congolese exploiting the Congolese was a non-issue
It's ironic how so much of anticolonial discourse completely strips blacks and browns of agency

You have no idea. Why do you think there's a stereotype of Americans being absolutely terrible at geography and being almost totally ignorant about world history? American public school is really bad at teaching history in general, but what it does manage to pass onto students is mostly just American history, because it is constantly repeated and reiterated through 12 years of schooling. A handful of names and concepts get hammered into you through rote if nothing else, but even then most people just know the names, maybe a couple terms, but couldn't tell you much in detail.

Our school system is a fucking joke, man.

NTA but the Tutsi has been the ruling class prior to the Belgians showing up. Most of what you said in the OP is true but those were things Belgians(and to a lesser extent the Germans before them) did to entrench and already existing system. They made it worse for sure, but it didn't pop up out of nowhere.
>Europeans are conveniently let off the hook for the dozens of atrocities they caused in the rape of Africa
Belgium is kind of a weird country to use to make this point, Leopold II's treatment of the Congo is pretty well known I think.

>Leopold II's treatment of the Congo is pretty well known
The complete opposite, he's depicted as a Hitler like figure when he did nothing wrong and barely interacted with it

What world do you live in where Europeans aren't constantly shat on for colonialism?

but Hutus and Tutsis aren’t identical if you actually pay attention the difference between is pretty big

No. They just fully racialized an already existing, somewhat "racial" caste system. Iirc prior to their influence successful Hutus were considered Tutsis and unsuccessful Tutsis considered Hutus.

What world are you living in?

the OG independence leaders knew how guilty the comprador class was and wrote about it extensively
if that's fallen out of popular discourse, ask yourself who benefits from this change
