If you support state nullification, separatism, and state sovereignty, you should support it even when Newsome, Walz, and Pritzker use it to nullify actions of the Trump administration. This is what republicans fail to understand. They clap like seals when red states defied the federal government during the Obama administration but get butthurt when blue states do the same thing now with Trump in charge. And there was almost a “middle confederacy” of Virginia and North Carolina at some point as well. Honestly, the CSA still would have splintered at some point had it succeeded because there were inherent differences between those states as well. We’re at the point where most American states have gotten so big that each of them could be their own separate country and just freely trade with each other.
