In these countries everyone just throws their trash in the streets and leaves it to rot at the side of the road.We are continually told by patriots that European and American imperialism changed these countries for the better and that "we gave them medicine, factories, civilization, they'd still be living in mud huts and straw houses flinging shit if it wasn't for us, they should be thankful"Well then shouldn't this have been one of the most basic and easy pieces of infrastructure that the occupiers could have left behind? How to get rid of garbage?
We did retard. They have been running their countries into the ground for 50 plus years. Browns did not maintain what we left them.
>>18665653>occupiersyes after they left the natives reverted to their own shitty cultures
>>18665653>Well then shouldn't this have been one of the most basic and easy pieces of infrastructure that the occupiers could have left behind? How to get rid of garbage?Anon, infrastructure is a system, not a one-and-done thing you built once and it will work forever after.Waste disposal needs to scale with the population and consumption. Medieval farmers in the middle of nowhere don't need any waste disposal, but once you build a road and start selling them clothes and items with plastic packaging, etc. you need to build the appropriate nodes to service the garbage newly produced by them. When Europeans left the likes of India, it had a population of 330m people. Most of whom were not part of the consumer society.Today, there's over a billion people there and even the lowest rungs of society buy, use and throw away plastic shit.It was fully on India to expand the colonial garbage disposal network in tune with the expansion of the populace and the amount of garbage the median person produces. They utterly failed at it, that's why they now live burrowed under piles and piles of their own shit.
>>18665653Plastic only became widespread in these countries after the Europeans left. Before that all the trash was biologically degradable and posed little to no issues.
>>18665653Anon this is an unfair assessment.African cities are drowning in trash too.
>>18665894>AfricanLol rent free
>>18665653India was clean when they still had a caste system which identified whites at the top of the pecking order. These days the dark hell-spawned demons have got it in their heads that they do not need to clean like those of their caste are commanded to do.
>>18665939Nope, the trash they discarded in the streets was made out of clay, wood, and other materials that are biodegradable which meant that it had basically no negative impacts on the environment. However, their littering habits didn't die out with the introduction of plastic, so now you get photos like the one posted by OP.
>>18665936Clean it up kang
>We had flyin pyramids n shiet
Africa unite!
>>18665653>In these countries everyone just throws their trash in the streets and leaves it to rot at the side of the road.People do this in developed countries too, the difference is that developed countries have the infrastructure and tax revenue to provide regular street cleaning and garbage collection services.>we gave them medicine, factories, civilizationNot really, most colonies were just resource extraction schemes where the only infrastructure built by colonial powers was used to ship raw materials abroad. This meant that colonies were exporting all their valuable resources without generating any revenue for the locals, because those resources technically belonged to England/France/Portugal/Belgium and the state sponsored companies who owned the mines/rail roads/factories/etc. So when the colonial powers withdrew, they took all of their equipment with them and left locals with buildings and roads that they didn’t have the money or technical expertise to maintain. The introduction of modern medicine was a net positive, but medicine costs money that impoverished people don’t have and requires complex supply chains that undeveloped areas can’t support, so lots of people still don’t have access to basic shit like antibiotics.
Thanks to the fact that they industrialised so early England had some of the most dirty and polluted cities in the world. The Thames would set on fire during summer and the whole city had a certain smell until the late 19th century.
>>18665782>Waste disposal needs to scale with the population and consumptionThis. Basically, population and/or purchasing power parity line going up faster than sate budget line = piles of trash on the streets.
>>18666075>Obsessed with usLmao
>>18666117>The Thames would set on fire during summerProof?Sounds like bullshit.
Did you know most of the trash in the ocean comes from the Philippines
>>18665653Colonial regimes are for the most part happy to let the subjects rot. Sanitation inrastructure is expensive as well as bothersome to mantain. Plus also >>18665782 though his post has some problems.> "we gave them medicine, factories, civilization"I like that Factories are regularly mentioned in these conversations like anyone was unironically building those in 19th century European Colonies. And IIRC most of the great leaps in medicine and what such happened after independence so technically speaking european goverments (who are then supposed to embody the people subject to them) did not give them shit other than access to western education.>>18666731He may be confusing the Thames with the Cuyahoga, Cleveland's famous River that catches on fire. The Great stink did happen though, it was what convinced parliament to give london an actual modern sewer system. The river passing through Sheffield burst into flames in 1969 though. But his wider point is correct: Industrializing cities were disgusting.
>>18666831Btw Cleveland's river caught on fire a few years ago.
