The British Empire is one of the strangest creations in history to me. It really shouldn’t have become an empire and when the perfect circumstances that created it were gone, the people running, who have always been motivated by profit, dumped it because it wasn’t profitable anymore. It almost fell backwards into be the largest empire in history. Truly an oddity.
