Let's say LaRouche partners up with Jesse Jackson in 88', they win the Dem nomination and then the presidency. What does the rest of American history look like?
>>18667406Is he the President or the VP? I'm going to assume VP.Anyway, the boring answer to that massively improbable series of events is that he and his followers are whenever possible shunted from any source of actual power. Assuming he is not impeached beforehand, Lyndon spends his tenure as a favourite punching bag for most of the press. The are a lot of interesting answers to this question: Fusion energy would enjoy a juicy influx of funding, and NASA would probably also enjoy a similar boost. Henry Kissinger's life is probably going to be somewhat unpleasant for a few years; there will be lots of bickering between the LaRouchies and the established federal goverment. Lyndon may entertain himself drowning journalists in highly cerebral gibberish and floating around insane flavour of the week projects that g nowhere. I doubt the pair get re-elected still, maybe Jesse Jackson alone does. What do you think would happen OP?
Immediate end to the Special Relationship as US foreign policy flips to becoming radically anti-British. Possibly leads to the current split with Europe and Canada a generation earlier, almost certainly leads to a bunch of small islands in the Caribbean getting independence whether they want it or not.
>>18667454By the way is it just me or does EIR really fall off in quality after a point? Obviously something cannot be in its prime forever but its dire.>>18667460Did he really mean the British thing, though?
>>18667406For them to win, they would have to be completely different people, or American history before that would have to have been completely different.
>>18667406USA declares war on Britain because LaRouche thought the Queen was the head of the Illuminati.
>>18667454Yeah VP, Jackson manages to get the black vote to come out in full force and tip the scales just like what happened in '08. I mostly agree with all of your predictions except I think the late 80s early 90s you had this exhaustion on some level of Reagan neo-conservativism and the culture was already experiencing this sort of counter cultural push again similar to the 60s just with the rise of alt-rock techno and hip-hop basically things like this: >https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Second_Summer_of_Love So there's this kind of "new weird America" vibe in the air were Americans are more open to "kooky" beliefs and new age stuff. Of course LaRouchites were famously much more socially conservative than other syncretic left + right groups so its not like you get drug legalization or the soft on crime approach we have today. But yeah interesting to think about
>>18667481>Did he really mean the British thing, though?Would be interesting to see America shift away from Israel over a decade before 9/11. He was constantly accused of antisemtism back then like Pat Buchanan was and both of them shared an "no more wars for Israel" opinion around that time
White people extinct by 2020
>>18667505The president can’t declare war
>>18667597Hmm, why? Also >>18667510>counter cultural push again similar to the 60s just with the rise of alt-rock techno and hip-hopLaRouche would've taken every possible step including alternating the First Amendment in order to ban all that 440 Hz music. But OP's scenario is completely preposterous like >>18667501 points out how the fuck would the LaRouche movement even take over the Democratic Party during the 80s? Makes literally zero sense
>>18667406>>18667510bro really believes there's an alternative timeline where everyone does so much ecstasy in the 80s they all become LaRouchite Ravers lmao
