These threads feel like a stealthy way for certain users to craft/cultivate a personality for themselves on an anonymous imageboard by bringing attention to the threads they regularly spam on the catalog. This is a noticeable phenomenon on many of the slower boards on 4chan. It's easy to become a dedicated spammer on a board with only a few hundred active users. Just look at how many have appeared on /his/ over the past few years alone. They're in this thread talking to one another right now.
