The common trope is that conflicts regarding race, women, trangenderism etc. are distractions from the class war and are part of the fake culture war.
Really, it is actually the opposite. This imaginary class war is always invoked in order to shut down discussion and minimise various issues. This is seen by the bad faith with which they refuse to abandon their side of the given "culture war" conflict, which they profess is fake.
How does, for instance, the idea of reparations in America not represent a genuine racial conflict of interests. Supposing classes exist, there will always be conflict between and within them on the basis of religion, race and sex.

And yes, you as a white man have more in common with Elon Musk or Trump than your Black and Mexican co-workers. Race is the only factor here that matters. Only retarded Socialists think otherwise.

This is what I mean. You won't lynch anybody. It is a larp. But discussion is shut down in the name of this larp.

Blumpf sends Israel billions while Americans struggle to pay the bills.
Musk has made it exceedingly clear that he wants to import millions of H1B jeets to take your job.
Imagine defending these parasites FOR FREE.

They all boil down to more welfare/social democracy. Plus nonsense like rent control.

>the "class war" meme is a distraction
I think "communists" and "nazis" now are both kind of like Don Quixote in their politics. That's the fictional Spanish knight who was living out of sync with his time because the age of chivalry had passed. There are a lot of people who are frustrated but the capacity to summon some kind of red or brownshirt army is not there, nor can they convince people that they're not crazy. For a variety of reasons. One is just that you don't have mass numbers of the population serving in the military. And also there is a consumer culture which is not like how Russians lived in 1917. If you get frustrated by politics you might try something that seems radical and then get disillusioned because that doesn't seem to do anything, but you can find some satisfaction in hobbies or video games or going to church.

>>18685215
>And yes, you as a white man have more in common with Elon Musk or Trump than your Black and Mexican co-workers.
Idk... I'm a white guy from Texas and don't feel like that. Blacks do their own thing a bit more but most Mexicans around here seem culturally pretty similar to Anglos. Maybe it's a Texas thing because my extended family is part Mexican because some of my cousins married Mexican girls. That doesn't mean people are going to adopt socialism though. The people I'm talking about are actually pretty conservative.

One thing that has happened is the population has become increasingly atomized and segmented. People who work in tech are more likely to only socialize with other tech people, which will take place either in the office, or if they do actually go out it will be craft beer places that they go to. If you tried to make the show "Cheers" today it wouldn't be believable because there are people from different social classes mixing in the same bar. So white people who work in tech and white people who do not actually have much less in common now because they just don't socialize.

>You can't really say that troons are an irrelevant minority no one should care about
I just did.
>and then chimpout about 'anti-trans' policies
I don't care what the imaginary libtards in your head do. This is an A-B discussion. You unironically think that trannies are more significant to the average working adult than shit like being able to pay bills or not being dragged into another foreverwar. You are disconnected from reality.
>>
>>18685370
why do you want to get rid of something that only afflicts 0.2% of the population

Cross-racial alliances can be made. I am less confident about cross-religious ones. I cannot ever imagine Muslim workers siding with non-Muslim workers instead of siding with Muslim elite.
>>
>>18685396
Those laws only exist as a reaction to 'trans identity'. It seems disingenuous to be arguing against them on those grounds.
It's almost as if...you're being a bit dishonest about your real thoughts on this subject?

You wouldn't want them gone for other reasons, potentially pro-troon reasons, right?

What I think is going on is that states (like the U.S.) have a harder time creating legitimacy and also have a harder time doing stuff, but it's not so bad that people are willing to make sacrifices to come up with a radically different kind of government. A state with a relatively low level of legitimacy can actually persist for a long time. Because again there are alternatives for people (vidya) and other factors which mitigate against serious unrest.

There's a lot of frustration though all the same. Politicians want to get elected too so they have to promise big things because people are so frustrated. But then they can't deliver on those things. As a result, they tend to alienate a solid # of their supporters pretty soon after getting back into power. This is happening to Trump now because of inflation and the Iran war. So to then compensate they will play up the other side as a big "threat" to try and generate fear-based motivation. Like the Republicans now are leaning into there being some kind of red takeover of America in the midterms which will chop everyone's dicks off and turn everyone trans, but in fact the "reds" in America don't have the capacity to take over the government, and even if they did then they wouldn't be able to do the radical stuff they believe in. Realistically they'd be more like Zohran Mamdani in NYC.

Also the Democrats are caught in the same paradox and will play up a perceived threat of "fascism" or right-wing authoritarianism even if the Republicans can't actually deliver on that.
>>
>>18685404
This is incorrect, lgbt identities in their modern sense only emerged in the 19th and 20th centuries in response to laws criminalising them and societal stigmas against them.
>>
>>18685408
>but in fact the "reds" in America don't have the capacity to take over the government, and even if they did then they wouldn't be able to do the radical stuff they believe in.
The DSA is the most powerful bloc in American politics and they have been scoring win after win. Woke 2 is shaping up to be quite the doozy.
>>
>>18685360
Transgenderism was pushed by elites so aggressively in Peak Woke years that there were tons of right-wing articles by Keith Woods and such detailing how capitalism is behind this and trying to tie right-wing cultural values with left-wing economic/class frame and rhetoric. Like half of the "dissident right" back then were larping as pseudo-commies to counter the billionaire-troon axis. Even some leftists got fatigued by richfags pushing this shit and blamed it on "pink capitalism".
>>
>>18685431
>capitalism
don't forget how radical Individualism is a product of Capitalism and thats the reason why so many people try to make themselves as unique as possible by inventing hundreds of new genders and sexual orientations, or by dying their hair and mutilating their body.

Btw I know the "woke" era has been memoryholed now that we have more popular topics like Iran war, Israel, Epstein and AI, but I don't think the right-wing backlash against intersectional weirdness (particularly the gender stuff) was all that extreme. It was an expected reaction against a weird, almost alien ideology that came out of nowhere and inexplicably took over a plethora of institutions in a matter of few years.
>>
>>18685471
Woke went undercover while people are too distracted to engage in full dewokefication of institutions
>>
>>18685396
so you support repealing the Respect for Marriage Act?
>>
>>18685475
if the state level laws it suppressed similarly dissappear and don't reappear? Then yes.
>>
>>18685424
Maybe but when you actually see them get into an executive role what they actually end up doing is managing capitalism and the budget for the police department and everything else. This is why Mamdani is effective insofar is that he wants to prove that he's a good manager of the system. But what they can actually do is limited by the structure they're operating in anyways. Also they have to keep the number going up because capital itself is much more mobile now.
>>
>>18685516
it didn't suppress state level laws, it suppressed state definitions of legal marriage. Marriage is an legal construct and needs to be codified in some way
>>
>>18685471
>>18685472
It's a predictable backlash but "woke" is also not a coherent ideology, it's more of a mix of political and cultural attitudes that arose from the expansion of a college-educated social strata as that segment of the population seperated itself and stopped mixing with other groups. It's like the feminist bookstore people in Portlandia who carve out a fiefdom defined by the right attitudes and words and manners, but such people are also able to go pro and become consultants for multinational corporations where they teach seminars on how to be "progressive" in a way that is supposed to help people advance professionally "in diverse institutions." They don't actually own the corporations but they can have some influence and push things and get institutions to adopt whatever weird stuff they're on, but they can't actually decisively "win" because they're just not strong enough if you look at the population as a whole, and that also makes them frustrated!
