Hello /his/,

I want to share with you a family heirloom, a saber and a rifle from the civil war. The story handed down from my family regarding these items are this: members of my family fought for the union and collected these items from the battlefield of Gettysburg. I'm pretty sure that the rifle is Confederate because of the British markings. The saber, idk, but it has battle marks in it. If any civil war autist would like to tell me more I'm all ears. The rifle is no functional at all.

It looks like a pattern 1853 Enfield. They were primarily imported by the csa but they were probably the best small arm in the war so everyone used them.

I got nothing to say except that is a beautiful rifle. Shame it's non-functioning but makes for a good wall hanger. I must say I'm jealous of that Sabre though

I hate how unionist burgers whine and ruin the original action mechanism.

Neat stuff OP. Have you looked into restoring the rifle? Perhaps you could polish up the wood and metal fittings? The sabre looks fine - especially the grip.
