Research Platonism in the Bible, and when you understand it, you can filter the Platonic interpretations out of the text, as Platonism is pagan and does not belong in the Bible.

What you will find is that the Bible is highly materialistic. The concept of disembodied spirits is not present and mainly originates from Greek paganism. Even God is described as a physical being with a body. There’s no promise of an afterlife in a spiritual plane either, only here on earth in a resurrected immortal body. Plato truly screwed Christianity over. If the Bible is true, then there will be an awakening to this platonic deception.

>If you ignore the GOAT Greek philosopher's influence on the Greek language of the New Testament and remove anything that could be seen as associated with idealism...
Yes, remove the supernatural like Jefferson did with his "Bible" and you get some moral teachings.

But you aren't supposed to do such a thing.
>Deuteronomy 4:2 NIV
>[2] Do not add to what I command you and do not subtract from it, but keep the commands of the Lord your God that I give you.

A materialist religion isn't effective nor even Christianity.
>1 Corinthians 15:14-19 NIV
>[14] And if Christ has not been raised, our preaching is useless and so is your faith. [15] More than that, we are then found to be false witnesses about God, for we have testified about God that he raised Christ from the dead. But he did not raise him if in fact the dead are not raised. [16] For if the dead are not raised, then Christ has not been raised either. [17] And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins. [18] Then those also who have fallen asleep in Christ are lost. [19] If only for this life we have hope in Christ, we are of all people most to be pitied.

So-called "materialist Christians" should therefore be pitied.

Moderns act like people of the past didn't know how conception of a child happened, or that the finality of death was unknown to them. So it must have been easypeasy for them to accept such supernatural things as a virgin birth or the resurrection. This is simply untrue.
