Why didn't Western patriarchy place so much value on a woman's virginity & loyalty unlike Eastern patriarchies? There have been numerous accounts of men in the West gladly accepting ran through women as wives & tolerating their infidelity. Sloppy seconds cuckoldry was pretty much the norm for peasant men who made the bulk of male population. Was patriarchy even a thing in the West to begin with?
