I always knew that the Inquisition and Catholic Church was wary of the existence of witches for the most part, hence why there were so few executions in Spain compared to HRE, Scotland, or France. But I thought of it more like a "broken clock being right twice a day" kind of thing.But it wasn't until /his/ that I actually found out about other aspects that made the Inquisition nothing like whatever Monty Python, Voltaire, Poe, or Anglo-Protestant education taught me, such as their limited torture, low execution rate, and a heads-up notice.
Awareness is slowly but steadily growing of the realization that medieval Europe and almost everything about the Catholic church have been bracketed by lies and propaganda for centuries by hostiles now.

They were constantly abusing their power and torturing and stealing from innocent people with impunity and they repeatedly ignored and tried to get around the Pope trying to check their power. Not too long ago actually. Maybe 3-4 months ago. I think I found about it while reading up on exotic torture instruments on wikipedia, or maybe it was witches. I doubt that they were any better than anyone else though, just that they were smeared and that they weren't any worse.

What’s funny is that there were also accounts of Jews in ghettos before full expulsion that made false claims because they were mad at the conversos.
