The "Holy Spirit" is a narrative device used to obfuscate the incestuous connotations of Jesus's birth. After all, if God impregnated Mary (Matthew 1:18) and Jesus claims to be God (John 10:30), that means Jesus banged his own mom to give birth to himself in an act of magical incest. Hence why the idea of "Holy Spirit" that wasn't Son or Father was necessary for the narrative.
