Why do Catholics worship Mary? Even if you call it "veneration", the amount of it that Catholics do to Mary is bizarre. "But she's the mother of god!" Ok, what did she do that was different from any other mother? Was her womb velvet-carpeted, with a baththub and a a luxury suite? What did Mary even do in her life that warrants her "veneration"? Also, I believe Jesus was the son of God even before he became human according to most Christians. So the virgin birth really isn't that esssential.
